Chapter 25 : Determined

++ Tori's POV ++

Determination .

I've never been so determined in my life and that says a lot considering that I am a competitive swimmer and a high school soccer star . But , right now all I had on my mind was .. 'Surviving' . There was no time to think about what might happen if this escape plan doesn't work . The only thing I could do was just pray and hope that amber and I make it out alive .

Carrying amber down to the basement , might of been one of the most difficult things I had to do . I haven't ate in what felt like days , so I guess I was a little weak . Carrying 110 pounds , plus my own body weight might of been hard but I didn't complain . Not to mention , I also had to carry her down the long spiral staircase , just to even get to the first floor .

As soon as we made it all the way down to the basement , I sat her down on the cold floor .

" Get me the sledgehammer . " I commanded her , not even taking a second to catch my breath . It took forever to get her down the stairs , and I bet it'll take forever to break this damn dry wall down with a sledgehammer . We can't waste any more precious time .

She nodded and handed my the sledgehammer . With one hard grip , I swung the hammer at the wall with all my force . But nothing happened . The dry wall didn't even break or even dent .

" Try again . " amber urged me , urgency laced in her voice . So , I swung again and again and again but NOTHING happened .

" FUCK ! " I screamed in frustration , running a hand threw my hair .

" Try again ! Come on tori , this is our only way out . " She yelled at me , clearly just as irritated as I was . I shut my eyes and thought about Abby and my parents . All I wanted was to be at home , in my bed , cuddling with my little sister . I wanted to see her smile again , hear her beautiful laugh . I opened my eyes and turned to look at amber . She was staring at me with a pleading expression on her face . I promised her that I'd get her out of here and that's exactly what I'm going to do , I don't care if I die trying .

I gripped the sledgehammer so tight , my knuckles turned white . With one hard swing toward the dry wall ... It finally started to break . A small smile crept it's way on my lips , as I started to demolished the wall with the hammer . After , I finished breaking the wall down , I saw it ... A small door .

" You did it .. " I heard amber whisper .

" Yeah . Now let's get the fuck out of here . "
