Maybe I did freak out a bit. Although I'm sure you would too if your brother's best friend who was twenty-one years old had admitted to having a crush on you. The bad part is that I use to have a crush on him, so this was getting quite weird.

I wandered around the mall for a while just to lose track of time. My thoughts overwhelmed me, of Elias, Jason, Scott, my mom...Jared.

How am I ever supposed to face Scott again?

Easy, just give him a chance. It's not as if Chase likes you anyway My thoughts whispered bitterly.

No.

NO.

What would Elias think? This was Scott, it's practically illegal. Of course I turn eighteen in a few weeks but that wasn't the point. Scott didn't give me those butterflies that seem to get loose whenever Chase was around. Although I couldn't deny the stampede in my tummy that ran around when talking to Jason.

Jason.

He became so confusing earlier it made my head spin like a carousel. Holding his hand for that split second made me feel safe and...wanted. Then he just walked away as if my existence was a nuisance to him.

What's wrong with me?

"Spencer?"

"Hey Annie." I sighed in relief as she appeared next to me in her Aztec print tights and flowing white tunic.

"Where were you? I've been looking everywhere!" She said, talking frantically.

"Just clearing my head."

"What's wrong? Did you talk to Jason?"

"Yeah..."

"And?" Annie pressed which caused me to hesitate. "Spence, you can tell me."

So I plunged into detail of my encounter with Jason, and soon after, Scott. Annie patiently listened as if every detail were to be a final exam question.

"So you're telling me," She said slowly while looking at the ground, "A college boy, let me repeat, COLLEGE BOY, proclaimed his love for you and all you did in return was run away?" She finished excitedly, making me laugh.

"Annie come on, it's Scott. And he didn't say he's in love with me!" I corrected while letting out another laugh. It felt good.

"Spence I'm telling you, those are the perfect ones. Yummy and all grown up."

"Please, their all frat boys." I countered.

"Not all, some are romantic." She said, implying about Sam, her boyfriend.

"Well he is one of a kind then."

"I think he's the one." She said suddenly, which made me stop beside her.

"Annie, it's been three months."

"Three Amazing months. I think I'm going to hint to him a bit about, you know." She raised her brow and I knew exactly what she meant.

Here was my best friend going to have sex when I haven't even had a real kiss. Pathetic.

"Ann, are you sure?" I asked cautiously.

"Yeah." She said while staring at the ground, but after a moment she looked up as a huge smile spread across her face, eyes twinkling.

"If he uses you I'll kick his ass, okay?" I joked, making her laugh as we walked toward the front doors of the mall.

"Spencer!" I stopped in my tracks as I heard my name, the door half open. Without turning around, I knew who it was by the voice and the fact that Annie let out a huge smirk.
