Chapter 14: Falling Inside the Black

~Your POV~

As I sat there, I kept my eyes fixated on my twiddling fingers. I felt the eyes of my four friends staring at me, eager for me to tell the truth.

"Okay. It's all hard ti explain on a low level, so, just bare with me..." I explained, entwining my fingers together tightly. "Just like you, Naruto, I have a Tailed Beast inside of me."

Naruto's gaze softened with his now wide, blue eyes. Everyone seemed a little off edge as I said that. Not a surprise in the least bit.

"I hold the (lucky number) tailed (fave animal). And because of that, I have nightmares, much like you must have yourself."

He nodded, answering my unintentional question. "Yeah, I get 'em once or twice a week, what about it?" He asked, now sitting at the edge of his chair.

"They're references of the demon. And how badly they feel they must be set free." I paused a moment, before I continued again. "The nightmare I just now had, the demon was talking to me, telling me to release them from the seal. But I cannot allow that. My parents are already after me, as you know, and they will instantly know where I am if they sense the slightest bit of that Chakra Power."

The room fell silent a little after that. But the door opened to reveal Kakashi-Sensei in the doorway, an unreadable expression written onto his face.

"I know this should all be kept a secret, but I feel you must know the truth, both of you, (Y/n), Naruto..." He began.

"What is it, Kakashi-Sensei?" Naruto asked, surprisingly sounding respectful.

He let out an uncertain sigh. "Sakura, Lee, Hinata, I am trusting you three for whatever is said in this room, stays between us all."

The three Genin nodded in agreement, understanding the instructions. I could tell he was all-out serious, so could the others. Good, because whatever he had to say, was top secret indeed.

"Good," he slowly walked in and pulled up a chair. "There's a group of rogue ninja known as the Akatsuki. They've each abandoned their Villages, and are doing anything in their power to collect the power of the Jinjuriki."

I've heard of them before somewhere , I swear I have. I could tell Sakura recognized the name, Hinata as well. But Naruto was completely befuddled.

"Naruto, (Y/n), that means they are also after your Tailed Beasts. And do you know what will happen if they do extract your spirit?" Kakashi asked.

I now hung my head as Naruto looked as confused as ever. "We'll die." I plainly stated, not trying to sugar-coat anything anymore, it's far too late for that.

Small gasps were heard from the room. "Right. So that's why in the upcoming Chunin Exams, we're taking extra precautions on who is let in to the Village."

"Kakashi-Sensei, if that's the case, then isn't it to high of a risk to even hold these Exams?" Sakura blurted, all of a sudden defensive.

Kakashi sighed, considering on what he should say and not. "Yes, it would be an unneeded risk, but Lady Tsunade insists we go through with the Exams. Considering that we would have to wait a whole other year just to hold them if we did have it postponed." He admitted.

Everyone seemed to want to disagree with the idea, but nevertheless understood the circumstances. Nobody seemed to know what to reply with at this point, but one topic still had me curious.

"Kakashi-Sensei, can you tell us more about the Akatsuki? Surely we'll want to know what and how to deal with them if they do someone show." I lifted my head and looked at him, eyes sparking with questions.

He seemed to notice this, and decided that I had a valid point. "There's very little information I can share with you, but I'll do my best to let you hear what you want to know."

I nodded along with everyone else. "Thank you, any information will be important, so please continue." I didn't realize how "adult" I sounded, it was odd.

"Well, first off, most of their members are still undetermined." He paused for a while before continuing. "And their last sighting was in the Land of Rice Patties, not far from the Land of Fire."

"Wait, really? That close to the Village?" Sakura asked quickly. She really was one of the more alert shinobi I know.

"Yes, it's impressive on how quickly they advance. Frightening, actually. All the more reason to take precaution for the Exams." He claimed, stopping his speech because of a knock at the door

"May I come in?" A muffled female voice asked for the outside.

"Yes," Kakashi said, now standing from his chair while the woman walked in. "Well, I should be taking my leave now. I hope you heal well, (Y/n)." And then he exited the building to do who-knows-what.

"Miss (L/n), I have news about your recovery. You seem to be in good shape according to Dr. Barwhin, so only two more days will be required until you leave." She smiled.

I returned the kind gesture. "Thank you for the update, ma'am, it's much appreciated. When you see him, please give Dr. Barwhin my thanks."

"Will do, thank you for your time. Oh, and only about ten more minutes for visitors, you need to rest for a bit."

I nodded as she walked out of the dim-lighted room. It all fell silent for a moment, before Hinata looked at the clock ticking on the wall.

"Oh, I forgot about my Training with Neji, sorry, but I have to go. I hope you are well soon (Y/n)."

"Oh yeah, my mom needed me home to help with the household chores, bye (Y/n), I'll stop by later to visit." She smiled and walked out with Hinata.

"Bye Hinata, Sakura!" I waved  with a grin plastered onto my face. Now it was just me, Naruto and Lee left in the room, falling silent once more.

Naruto eventually yawned. "Welp, all this talk about the Chunin Exams has got me thinking, I'd better go do some training myself if I ever want a chance at passing. Later!" He then walked out.

"Yes, I better go, too. I will come back sometime tomorrow to visit, best of wishes!" Lee smiled as he stood up, exiting the Hospital.

"See yah, Lee!"

And with that all said and done, the room's atmosphere drooped down to a lonely breeze. Eyelids starting to sag, I leaned back onto my pillow and fell asleep; hoping no nightmares deciding to victimize me....
As I fall inside the darkness of insanity.

Heyo! Here's another chapter for you lovely readers! And, yeah, I know the Chunin Exams are with the 3rd Hokage, not Tsunade, but please just roll with it, my ideas got a little mixed up... *Hugs You* It will all be okay, shhhhhhhh, you can yell at me later.
