Sonya walked in, her hair bouncing around her shoulder - she could work wonders with a blowdryer and a round brush.

"What are you smiling at, weirdo?" She held her tongue between her teeth as if to stop herself from laughing, it gave Coley butterflies and goosebumps.

"Ahaa nothing," she nervously giggled back. Damn, why so nervous around her best friend all of a sudden?

"What will it be today, madame?" Sonya either didn't notice Coley's nervousness or didn't care, mocking a makeup artist by asking the question.

"I was thinking of something more natural-" trying to play along before she was interrupted by Sonya,

"Well I've already decided on lip gloss. Definitely lip gloss." She then sat on the bed beside her, so incredibly close, Coley could feel her warm body heat and a slight scent of floral perfume. Had she worn perfume before? It didn't matter as Sonya applied mascara with an intense expression it took all of Coley's concentration to look anywhere but her friend's face.

Sonya picked up the lip gloss and started to apply it to Coley's lips, Coley's breath hitched in her throat as she forgot to breathe, causing Sonya to hesitate and glance up at her friend with her lips slightly parted.

'Damn it why did I forget to breathe what is going on?' Coley's mind raced as she watched Sonya's eyes flick between her eyes and her mouth, 'what is going on here? Oh my lord I want to kiss her so hard right now...' She had to look down, she couldn't bear staring at her friend any longer. This was too much.

Sonya slowly started putting her makeup away before telling Coley she had to go down and meet her guests, Coley said she would follow her down later. Sonya looked a tad preoccupied, maybe she was just thinking about the party.

'Well that was WAY too close, I almost kissed her. Remind me not to let Sonya put makeup on me again,' she made a mental note. She got out her phone and tweeted:

'please don't do that again (skull emoji)'

That's literally how she felt, it was so hard being around her friend these days. She'd googled 'how to get over a crush on your best friend' more than once before today but they always said things like 'try to create distance from your friend or simply stop being friends with her!' but that definitely wasn't an option. Life without Sonya would be bleak and colourless. It reminded her very much of a song she liked by Jaymes Young,

"Lookin' at you, like a star

From a place, the world forgot

And there's nothing, that I can do

Except bury my love for you"

How was she supposed to deal with Sonya? How was she supposed to ask of she felt the same way? She decided she would bury her feelings until she exploded if she had to, even if she was terrible at it.
