Untouchable

Meds

It was the first day of April and everyone was playing pranks on one another. Kevin and I just sat back and watched the disaster unfold.

We laughed at all of the posts and were happy that we weren't that dumb.

We sat on the benches at lunch watching a girl yelling at her boyfriend because he 'cheated' she was yelling, "Tell me this is a joke!" over and over again.

We watched without actually watching.. as not to be rude.

We wouldn't fight in public like that.. But when we did fight it was pretty bad.

He would call me a bitch and a cunt and I would call him an asshole and a dick. We wouldn't talk for a few hours and then we'd make up.

"We only have a couple more months left of this place." He said, looking around

I got chills when I thought about the pact we made. I wouldn't see my mom anymore. My dad. My brother...

I was prepared to give up my whole normal life for a boy I met 9 months ago.

What an amazing 9 months though.

I took his face in my hand and pressed my lips to his.

"I don't expect you to go through with it by the way.. You don't have to," He said

"No.. It's the only way we can be happy. I get my Kevin back. You get yourself back.. And you get me" I said

"I only want you. I don't care about myself we don't have to leave." He said

This was way different then what he was saying last week.

"Kevin you're gonna keep changing your mind so I'll just make this decision. We're leaving." I nodded

He stayed quiet

He's been so quiet since he started taking those meds. It seems like he has some sort of resentment for me for making him change meds.

I didn't really make him did I? It's not all my fault.

I grabbed his hand brought it up to my lips to kiss it.

My time with my family was ending really soon.

I couldn't think about it.

I had to focus on Kevin.

I looked at his beauty as he stared off into the sky.

I'm making the right decision for me.

I rested my head on his shoulder and he rested his on my hair.

"I really don't deserve you" he mumbled

"You have me though" I said

He sighed.

After school we went to a nearby gas station and bought a slurpee.

As we walked out I saw a man filling up his gas tank.

I tapped Kevin, "Idiot's wallet is on the trunk of the car." I chuckled

He didn't laugh.

I don't know how I'm gonna live with this for 2 more months.

I rolled my eyes, "Look, I'm gonna go use the restroom really quick but I'll be back.": I said

He nodded towards me and I walked back into the gas station and into the bathroom.

Once I finished I washed my hands and went back outside.

Kevin was leaning against his car waiting for me.
