ELIZA P.O.V
It was Thursday night, I was currently in my apartment chopping vegetables for dinner. Jaxon was on the couch and Amber was standing opposite me.
"You okay?" I lifted my eyes to met Amber's concerned ones.
"Yeah I'm fine. It has just been a very long and agonising four days."
"Has Candy given you any trouble?"
"Not since she hit my least nerve."
"Well to be fair you hit her square in the face." I chuckled.
Amber and I weren't good friends before I left school. Sure I had had the occasional conversations here and there but we never had a strong friendship. I somehow knew that I could trust her and so when I had to leave school I reached out to her and told her the truth. Through texting and calling nearly every single day we had created a strong friendship. And I have always been grateful she stuck with me through thick and thin.
"So Zach has shown an interest in you." She states casually popping a carrot in her mouth.
"Who's Zach?"
"Zachary Reeves. He's Ric's best mate and captain of our schools football team. He came shortly after you left." I shook my head, no bell was ringing in my head.
"You know that tanned, green eyed, god. Tall, muscular, gorgeous smile and the hot slight beard thing going on." Her voice went all dreamy. Oh yeah I knew exactly who she meant. Zach was the dude that I ran into on the first day.
"Don't you have a boyfriend?"
"Hey I may be dating Ric but I ain't blind." Amber had a point there. He was so gorgeous that any girl, single or taken, would drool over him. I however did not have or want that privilege. The one and only guy i had room for in my life was playing on the couch.
"You have to at least come and see him play tomorrow night. And afterwards you and me can head to the after party."
"Are you serious? I haven't been to a party in nearly two years. Beside who is going to look after him?" I waved my hand towards the living room. Everyone in the town thought I was a slut, and there was no way anyone would want to look after him.
"My mum will." I gave her a look. "No seriously she knows about the whole situation and would be happy to. Plus I think both her and I would agree that you are eighteen and need to get out and have some fun." I gave it some serious thought and was surprised by my answer.
"Fine." Amber clapped her hands together. "But you have to help me find something to wear."
