Jonathon hated physical education lessons at school. He was embarrassed because he often had bruises on his arms and legs, he was worried that everyone would laugh at him.
One day, Jonathon's physical education teacher took him aside and asked him gently where the bruises had came from. Jonathon burst into tears. He said that his parents had got a divorce and, since then, his Mum had started hitting him, and even kicking him. He said it was worse when his mother was tired or stressed - which was a lot of the time. She couldn't control her temper anymore.
