James and Lily are cuddling on the worn couch of Gryffindor common room. It's late, the room is empty and the fire is dying slowly, so slowly. The only sound is the couple's breathing and the crackle of burning wood. James is looking directly into Lily's eyes.
"Your eyes are green, did you know that?" James' voice is dead serious but the twinkle in his eyes betrays his mischievous behaviour.
"Seriously? I thought they were blue!" Lily giggles at James' serious expression.
"I like your eyes, they're all twinkly and green."
"Like tinkerbell!"The confusion on James' is hilarious and Lily can hardly stop laughing.
"Who the hell is Tinkerbell?" Lily's laughter fills the silent room. A pink blush of joy splashes on her face. James is too distracted to listen to an answer. He is back to staring into Lily's eyes, his face is moving closer, slowly, carefully. The blush on Lily's face is growing and the grin James' face is spreading, reaching his eyes. James' face jerks forward and and his mouth captures Lily's lips. James will not let Lily take control. His tongue is slipping through Lily's lips and darting around her mouth. Lily's hands are travelling up James' chest while James' hands are combing through Lily's long hair. Lily's shaking fingers unbutton the first button of James' school shirt. She looks uncertainly at James, he smiles, she continues. The second, third and fourth buttons are opened slowly before James pulls away and pulls his shirt up above his head. Lily stop, and stares, and smiles.
"You're hot!" James laughs out loud at Lily's observation
"You do know that you've seen me shirtless before, right?" Lily nods without taking her eyes off of James' chest.
"Yeah, but it was never me that did it. It was always either some blonde slut or yourself being arrogant."
"There has never been any blonde sluts. Only ranga bookworms." Lily crashes her mouth against James' mouth when he says this.
"Really?" Lily whispers in between kisses.
"Really." James' lips are now on Lily's neck, kissing down her neck to her collar bone.
"You're pretty hot as well, just saying." Lily only nods into James' mouth, now her hands are raking through his hair, making it even messier than before. Lily pushes James down into the couch so that she is now straddling James. The grin on his face is beautiful, especially to Lily. She tries to kiss the grin off his mouth. It doesn't work. James tries to kiss the giggle out of Lily's breath, it works.
An hour later Lily is still on top of James, his shirt is still lying, abandoned, on the floor but now Lily's quiet snores are the only noise in the common room. The fire has died down to embers so James can only see the shadows of Lily's face but he can still see her beauty. He can still see the memory of a smile etched onto her face. He can still hear the remnants of her giggling. And he can even still see the green glow of her eyes, staring into his.
