I woke up happy the next morning until I remembered what happened yesterday. I sat up groaning at my stupidity. Last night when I got home, all I did was lay in bed sulking. I have know idea what to do! I thought. Glad that I had plenty to do today, I got up and got ready.
The week flew by and I continued to sulk. Micheal didn’t talk to me and I didn’t talk to him. I kept myself busy with schoolwork and soccer. It was finally Friday and I was anxiously waiting for the final bell to ring. When it did, I tore up out of my seat and rushed down to the locker room to get ready for our first game.
After everyone finished changing we headed up to the field to warm up.
An hour and several drills later, it was time for the game to start. I took my position as starting defensive mid and got in my zone. The whistle blew and the game was off. Mylie, our starting forward dropped the ball to Mariah who crossed it to Mattie. Mattie raced down the field doing tricks and getting by defenders. She took a shot from 25 yards out and it went right over the goalies head into the far post upper corner. We cheered and got back into position. The whistle blew once again and the other team crossed the ball to their left mid, but I was already there. I took the ball and passed it up to Mariah.
The clock ticked down and the ball was kept on their half. Mylie had scored another goal for us, so we were up 2-0. The whistle blew ending first half.
My team took the field knowing they were going to come back hard. They had kick off this time and when the whistle blew their best forward started racing down the field with the ball. She faked out our outside mid and defender and was racing towards the goal. Right as she was about to shoot, I slide tackled the ball away from her and cleared it up field. Saying she was pissed, was an understatement, but I could honestly care less. The game went on and ended 35 minutes later. My team jogged off the field cheering. After doing our cheer and congratulating each other, we went our separate ways.
I started putting my stuff in my car when I feard footstpes come up behind me. I turned around to see… Micheal?
“You’re good Shortstuff.” He said.
“Thanks.” I mummbled “Is there something I can help you with?”
“You can tell me why you’ve been avoiding me this week. And don’t try to deny it because my source said that you admitted it.” He said with a smirk on his face.
“I-Uhh, I-Umm..” I stuttered.
“So, because you’ve been rude to me, you owe me a date.” He replied with a grin plastered on his handsome face.
“I-Uh, What?” I said, still confused.
“Tomorrow night, I’ll pick you up at 7. Wear something comfortable.” Without giving me a chance to respond, he walked off.
Still quite confused, I got into my car and drove home.
I woke up the next morning at 9 and got dressed. With the nerves settling in about tonight, I decided to do homework to take my mind off of it. After hours of stupid homework, I decided to get ready. I took a shower, shaved, washed my hair and body and got out. I blow dried my hair and then curled it, making my ombre hair loook gorgeous. Most people think my hair is dyed but it’s not, it’s all natural. When I finished my hair, I got started on my makeup. I put on foundation, mascara and blush. Then I got dressed. I put on my light blue ripped skinny jeans, a white lace long sleeve shirt, a black leather jacket and my black converse. I made sure I had my favorite necklace on, grabbed my phone and purse, then went down stairs. When I got downstairs I saw the usual: my brother watching t.v., my parents fighting and my sister missing in action. I sat next to my brother trying to focus on the t.v. instead of my parents but it didn’t really work. A couple minutes later the doorbell rang. I got up and ran out the door, running into Micheal yeat again. Not wanting to give my parents mor time to come out, I grabbed his hand and ran towards his car, getting in. Seeing that I was in a hurry, he started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
“Sorry about that, parents being annoying again.” I said.
“It’s okay.” He replied chuckling. “You loooko good Catherine.”
“Thanks.” I mummbled, my cheeks flaming. “”By the way, you have an awesome car. Iv’e always wanted one.”
Shocked at my comment, he said “Really? You don’t seem like the type to want an R8 audi.”
Smiling, I replied “Yeah, I’ve wanted one since I was 10, believe it or not. Anyway, where are we going?”
With a grin plastered on his face he said “I can’t tell you. It’s a secret.”
“As long as you don’t kill me, rape me or torture me I don’t care where we go, or what we do.”came my smart reply.
Chuckling he replied “I promise I won’t do any of that.”
The rest of the way there we talked about anyting and everything. 15 minutes later we stopped.
“So where are we exactly?”
“You’ll see.”
We got out of the car and started walkinginto the woods until we came to an opening. Looking around I saw a blanket and a basket laid down on th grass. Looking up gave you a gorgeous view of the start and the beautiful night sky.
With a smirk on my face I said “A picnic under the stars is a smart way to a girls heart.” Looking at him I noticed a slight blush on his cheeks, I started laughting, which made him blush even more.
After calming down, I turned towards him and with a serious face said “It’s so gorgeous.”
“Just like you.” He said with a wink.
I smiled and we walked over to the blanket. We ate and talked for hour untill we decided that we should probably get back. When we got back to my house I turned towards him with a smile on my face.
“Thanks for tonight, I had a lot of fun.” I pecked him on the cheeck and got out of his car. I went inside and listened to his car drive off. Then I went upstairs and fell asleep with a smile on my face.
