 Chapter 5

Recap: Catherine was telling Mike how she was already afraid to lose them. He kissed her and told her she wasn't going anywhere.

I looked into his eyes and I knew he wasn't lying. Mike pulled back and laid down on the sand bringing me with  him. I laid my head on his chest and we stayed quiet laying there and thinking. After a while we both fell asleep. I awoke with a start with Miranda screaming bloody murder in my ear.

“Holy crap Miranda! Was that really necessary?”

“Of course it was my love.” She replied with a grin. “Now come on, we're going back up to the house so we can roast some hot dogs for lunch.”

I got up with a sigh and looked around noticing that everyone else was gone. We started to walk back up to the house when I looked at Miranda only to realize she was already looking at me with a creepy smile.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Quite honestly its super creepy.”

“Because you have details to spill about you and Mike. I totally so you guys kiss and then you fell asleep together. Totally adorable. I am totally shipping you guys.” Miranda replied.

“Well first, don't ever make that face again... seriously. Second, it's not that big of a deal it was just a kiss. Lastly you said totally waaaaayyy to many times.” I looked back at her to find her frowning at me.

“Well I'm sorry I'm so freaking happy for you. Why aren't you as happy?”

“I really like Mike. I honestly do but I don't want to get ahead of myself. I'll just see what happens while we are friends so please leave it at that. Okay?” I asked.

“I guess.” Miranda replied with a whine.

We walked the rest of the way to the house to find everyone around the outdoor fire pit with all the stuff for the hot dogs.

“Finally! I almost died waiting for you two. Don't you know I'm a growing boy? I need my food!.” Josh whined.

“Oh shut up Josh. We both know you've probably already eaten like five hot dogs.” I replied with a laugh.

“YOU KNOW NOTHING!” He replied before taking off inside with Alyssa following.

After lunch we hung out at the house for a bit until dinner when we decided to have a contest. We all gathered around the camp fire prepared to kick each others butts.

“Okay so here's the deal, who ever can eat the most marshmallows from now until  midnight wins and gets to chose a dare for anyone in the group. Everyone understand?” Thomas explained. He was answered with a chorus of yeahs. “Okay starting now.”

Josh immediately started eating as many as he could. Unlike the rest of us who were smart enough to go at a slower pace. We started talking about school and homecoming while the hours started to tick by. At 9:30, Josh quit after puking up his 23 smores and Alyssa quit also to help him clean up. At around ten Thomas and Anna decided they were too full to continue but I think they just wanted to go make out. At 10:50ish Savannah fell asleep and Aiden quit to take her up to bed. At 11:55 Mike, Luke, Miranda and I were all still in the competition and trying to eat as many as we could. When midnight struck we tallied up our totals and I was not surprised at who won...

I will be updating more frequently due to school almost being over but I still have a couple of weeks. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do length wise for the book but I'll just see what happens. I just wanted to post something to let everyone know I was still alive.
