The next day, Charm was taking a casual stroll through the corridors, when she saw Snape approaching her.

"Ms. Black, Headmaster Dumbledore would like to see you in his office," he told her, voice full of annoyance.

"Yes, sir," Charm dutifully replied, not wanting to upset one of her friend's fathers. As she made her way towards the hidden staircase, she and Harry crossed paths, winding up going in the same direction.

"Let me guess, Dumbledore summoned you, too?" Harry more or less stated, it not really being a question.

"Yes. Wonder what he's going to lecture us about today. Hopefully there's some ice cream cake in it for us."

He looked at her, slightly amused.

"So, Harry," Charm started, a fiendish gleam in her eyes, "how's Lillian?"

"She's well, Why do you ask?"

"You know very well that's not what I was asking."

"Look, despite how much better you think I am for her compared to Draco—"

"Which you are."

"—I'm not asking her out."

"But why not? You like her and, despite how much she tries to cover it up, she likes you."

"Last time I checked, being mauled by Draco is not on my to do list."

"But why not? Mauling is a fun past time... well, maybe being mauled isn't—unless you're into that sort of thing."

Harry gave her a deadpan look. "I hate that I can't tell if you're joking or being completely serious."

"Who says it isn't both?" Charm said as they arrived at the staircase. "Vampire potatoes."

With the ridiculous password having been spoken, the staircase was revealed and the two Slytherclaws went upstairs.  When they reached the top of the staircase, they noticed that the door was already cracked open.

"Come in," Dumbledore called, and the two entered to see Lillian seated in a corner of the spacious headmaster office eating a bar of chocolate.  "We've been waiting for you two to arrive.  Lemon drop?"

"No, thanks," Harry replied.  "Why are we here, sir?"

"I wanted to inquire you about to all the events of last night," he told them.  "As the headmaster of this school, I find it necessary to keep track of everything that happens, especially dangerous events, so I would like you three to relate to me exactly what happened in the chamber of secrets."

"What do you want to know, exactly?" Charm inquired. "We told you about the events that occurred yesterday."

"Just the details, my dear," he told her with a smile.  "Which spells you used to defeat the basilisk, what caused Tom Riddle to disappear, and anything else you may want to inform me about."

"I used a fire spell to blind the basilisk," Lillian piped up.  "Incendio.  It seemed to work out alright."

This piqued Charm's interest. Lillian, I know that spell inside and out, and you can't create a phoenix like that from incendio. Why did you lie to him?

It was a spell we learn in a different grade and I didn't want to seem pretentious.

Okay then, Charm mentally replied, knowing that was an outright lie and also knowing she wasn't going to get the answer any time soon.

"Then after Lillian did the, uh... incendio," Harry continued, "I flicked my wand and prayed for a weapon and a sword with rubies on it kinda appeared on the ground.  I cut off the basilisk's head with it."
