Sam's POV
Looking over at the bed to make sure Dean was asleep, I sat down on the other bed. Cass came over a few minutes later after he examined Dean.
"Is it permanent?" I ask with hope in my voice it is short lasting.
"It seems like it. I cannot tell what spell was used to regress him to his younger form." Castiel explained. I nod and I lay down on the bed. Castiel follows soon after.
"Why didn't you tell me you thought something was wrong with him?" Castiel asked.
"I thought that he needed his time and space so I didn't really push him into talking. All I know is that this morning I woke up and he was like he is now." I try to explain in the easiest way I know. Cass seemed satisfied with my response and rolled over from his back to his side so he is facing me.
"How much does he remember anyway?" I ask.
"It's too early to know at the moment. He could have some sort of wall put up to stop his memories or they could be fully erased. That is before your mother died. It could be even before you were even born yet. The possibility is endless." Castiel explained.
I decide not to ask anymore questions. I wrap my arms around Cass and drew him closer to me. I was about to fall asleep when I realized I didn't shower yet. I then remember that Dean didn't have one either. I get up and jump in the shower real quick.
The shower helped me clear my thoughts for a short while. I get out and get redressed. I come out of the bathroom a few seconds later. I look over at the beds to see Castiel talking to Dean.
Dean must have woken up while I was in the shower. I walk over to them and sit down on my bed. "Hey Dean. Did you sleep okay?" I ask.
He nods at me before shaking his head.
"What happened?" I ask him. He looks over at Castiel and launches himself into my arms. I hold him as he cried in my arms.
"It's okay Dean. I'm here for you." I try soothing him. It works a little bit. He slowly pulls away from me and looks me in the eye.
"You wont leave like dad did to mama?" He asked. His innocence at it's all time high.
"I wont and neither will Cass. We are here for you. Just like a real family." I reassured him.
Dean took a deep sigh before he spoke. "Dad use to leave cause he would get mad at mama. They didn't like each other anymore after mama went away for a few days. They weren't mama and dad any more."
I stare at him in shock. The way dad use to talk about mom is nothing like the way Dean was describing it. "What happened to mom and dad? Why aren't they here?" Dean asked.
My voice became lost. I can't tell him so I look to Cass. He seemed to be thinking of a response.
"Dean. Your parents... They told us to love you. They said that they can't do it anymore so they said for us to do it." I say not knowing how Dean would take it.
"Why don't they love me anymore?" Dean asked as he started to cry again.
"Sometimes, when you love someone so much, you have to let them go." Castiel explained.
"Your parents loved you so much that they had to leave. They didn't love each other so they didn't want you to get hurt by that." I tried to clarify.
"Come on. Time for a bath." I say trying to take his mind off of this. He nods and slides off my lap. He went and grabbed something from his bag and walked to the bathroom.
"Do you need any help?" I call after him. A faint no was heard behind the closed door. I look over at Cass with a wide eye.
"That was unexpected. I didn't know how to explain it at all. Of course he would remember all that." I said and put my head in my hands. Castiel reaches across the small gap between the beds and puts his hand on my shoulder. He leans over and puts his head to mine.
"It will be alright soon. His mind is still so young that he will slowly forget about Mary and John." Castiel tells me. I nod and take my head out of my hands.
"How much more can Dean take. What if his memories come back and he remembers EVERYTHING. What if he remembers hell." The last part comes out as a whisper.
Castiel put a hand on my face. "It will be alright. We will cross that bridge when we get there."
Dean opened the door to the bathroom a second later. He stepped into view. He walked over to me and lifted up his arms. I get up and pick him up and lay him on my bed.
"Do you want to sleep with me tonight?" I ask sitting on the bed next to him. He nodded his head as he started to nod off to sleep.
"I'll lay down with you in a second." I say as I get up.
"Does this mean you're my new parents?" Dean yawned. I look over to Castiel. He shrugged his shoulders.
"If that is what you want." I say as he nodded and fell asleep.
I get up and walk over to the other bed. "What are you going to be doing while we sleep?" I ask as I throw my arm over his shoulder. He leans into my touch.
"I could stay here or I can leave and try to find something about this witch. Try and find her." Castiel answered me. I nod and kiss him on the lips. He responds by kissing back. We pull apart for air and lean our heads together. "Night Cass."
"Night Sam. See you in the morning." He said as his kissed me one last time before he disappeared. I get up from the bed and get in mine. Dean instantly latches onto my shirt. I soon fall into the glorious dream world.
