5. Closer

When Derek and I got to the bleachers, I walked over and took a seat, while doing so I stared at Derek and I thought about what to say first. So after I get my mind in the right place, I took a deep breath and asked as calmly as I could without exploding, "Why?...Why would you, Derek Hale, the captain and all out popular boy, break up with THE Kate Argent?". After this is said, Derek has a look of pure shock and confusion written on his face but he calmly replied "Why would you, Luna Lycan, date a guy like me?...". I just looked at him for a short minute and I wanted to gaze into his eye longer but I had to look down; when I felt a slight sting come upon my eyes. The stinging wouldn't go away, the pain that I felt was unlike anything I've ever felt before and it wouldn't go away. I knew what is was, but Derek didn't and he never would understand. So I didn't look up and I wasn't going to until it passed... Without my full knowledge, Derek brought his hand under my chin, whispering "It's okay..." over and over again. But he didn't know if it was going to be okay because I was the definition of the meaning monster. As he moved my face his way to look at him, I closed my eyes tightly while making sure he couldn't see the color that took over my natural amber eyes. As I quietly whispered "I'm a monster... I'm a monster..."over and over. Even though it was so quiet and couldn't have been heard by the human ear, he still heard, and quietly said "You're not a monster... Please look at me.." as if I was under a spell, my eyes opened slowly to come across an electric blue pair that replaced Derek's wonderful green/brown eyes. In that moment everything changed. My life that was known for the pain, torment, abuse, rape, and being unloved. Looking into Derek's eyes I felt like I belonged and had a meaning to live, like nothing could stand in my way of being with him. As if he alone could fight off the demons I hold within, that's trying to break free and waiting for the blade to release the pain that no longer could be held. Without his knowledge, Derek Hale would be my one and only release instead of a weapon without any meaning. And that day Derek Hale and I, Luna Lycan, where known as two repaired hearts that formed when our eyes meant and became snatched into one secret identity.
