Derek's P.O.V.

Not a soul in sight can feel my jumbled emotions going haywire. Besides my mother walking up the steps, while I'm in the kitchen for Luna's drink. ​I hope everything goes as planned; with my mom being alpha of Beacon Hills. I can feel Luna's emotions through our unique bond, even if she doesn't open up to let me see more of her. But what is she?... Without embracing her creature hidden inside, the bond that links us will not be completed to it's fullest potential. From my spot by the fridge in the kitchens threshold, I'm able to hear everything without using my senses to eavesdrop. As I'm 'busy' getting drinks, I can feel Luna's fear and anxiety to be helped and protected. When I feel her fear grow more by the passing minutes, I know its my time to come to her aid and follow my duty as my wolf takes my control away to defend the other half of my soul; before I know what's happening there's chanting going in my head, "Mate! Mate!.. must protect mate!", and then I'm running into the living room and my body isn't my own. When the unthinkable happens; my blue eyes lock on its target, my mother. And the last thing my mind registers are the growls echoing through the quite house.

Luna's P.O.V.

I​ don't know what happened. One minute I'm telling Mrs. Hale about what happens when my emotions are at the verge of exploding, then Derek appears all wolfed out. His eyes go straight to me then his mother. When he growls, my fear goes overboard and... ' why does Mrs. Hale look proud?! Her son is over here ready to attack his prey and she's not attempting to defeat the problem at eyes view?'. Derek leaps in the air and throws Mrs. Hale across the room away from me. He chances a glance while his head is lowered to the ground in a knelled position. I barely feel the tears leaking from my eyes when he slowly stands and reaches a hand towards my face. When the most unthinkable reflex happened, I flinched away and remembered.....
