The Retold: A twist intact!

I am the person who wrote this story: Safaia!

Now you must be thinking, Safaia-San, what's the story about? :3

Well, you read the summary right? That's basically the general idea. But to find it out in perf mode, you better read *^*)/

This is my first story, please enjoy! ^-^

Gon's Point of View:

I clasped my fishing rod

desperately waiting for the king

of the lake to bite. I needed to catch it! I have to take the hunter exam!

Suddenly, I felt a tug at the line. I waited, letting the fish bite the bait completely before springing into action!

"I got you now!"

I tugged at the rope at full strength only to be jerked back slightly. I tugged harder, the fish tugged harder, this time almost pulling me into the lake! I swung around a tree and out of the lake arose...

"I got it! The Lord of the Lake!"

"Wow! After 20 years! Last time it was Ging, wasn't it?"

"Like Father like Son!"

"Oi, Mito San! Look, Gon caught it!"

I whipped around and saw Mito-San looking down at the fish.

"Mito San! I caught the fish like a promised! Now I can take the exams, right? Right?" I asked hopefully, praying she would say yes.

She sighed and nodded her head.

"Yay! I'll go get packed now!" I dashed off towards my house, preparations to make on my mind.

Kay, lets Skip ahead to when Gon meets Kurapika and Leorio.

"Ok, you three. Tell me your names."

The captain said, looking over at all 3 of us.

"Ore wa Gon!"

"Watashi wa Kurapika."

"Ore ga Leorio."

'Hm? So these people are Kurapika and Leorio huh?'

The captain nodded, looking over to each of us respectively.

"Ok, now tell me why you're here."

He asked and Leorio snapped.

"Oi,Oi! Why should I tell you?!"

"Just tell me."

"Heck no! You're not an examiner!"

He ranted, pointing his finger accusingly at the captain.

"My dad's a hunter! I left whale island in order to become a hunter and see why he chose the job over being with me!" I said, earnestly.

"Hey Kid! You're not a team player are ya?! You weren't supposed to tell him that!" Leorio growled.

I pouted

"What can't I tell him why I'm here?"

"You..." He started but stopped when Kurapika was about to speak.

"Leorio, he can tell if he wants."

"Oi! You're younger than me aren't you?! Call me Leorio-San! Show some respect!"

"I could tell you why I'm here. But, that would be revealing too much about my identity and my deepest of secrets." He said, clutching his heart.

"Hey Katsuo? Tell the proctors we have 2 more dropouts on deck!"

....

"Eh?" They both said in unison.

"I'm an examiner too you know. Also, the exam already started. There're too many applicants so they hire people like me to widdle em down. Better answer carefully." He explained.

"So he says." I looked to Leorio and he growled.

After grumbling a bit, they both eventually answered. Before we knew it, the sky was clear again and we arrived at the port. During the time on the boat, Kurapika, Leorio and I became friends and decided to take the exam together!

While getting out of the boat, the captain gave me an apple and we left for the exam. He told me to take a path towards the Ceder tree up north for a shortcut and so that's what we did. After meeting up with some examiners who tested us with a little judgement test, they said they would let us go to the exam through the air with them as transport. Appear entry they were some..creatures...I think it was..'Kokiri?'....lets just go with that.

I clutched the Kokiri's legs while we flew through the sky.

"We did it Gon!" Leorio said happily.

"Yeah." I nodded, enjoying the flight

"Don't get so excited yet! The exam hasn't officially started yet." Kurapika laughed

"Yeah. But we're getting there." I said, letting my thoughts take over.

'I will become a hunter!'

Meanwhile, not known by Gon, Leorio or Kurapika, a girl stood by the hunter exam sight, musing to herself.

"Looks like he's finally coming..." She said, her amber eyes closed.

"Looks like I'll make my appearance soon!"
