Chapter 07 

Julio’s POINT OF VIEW

“Never mind I can walk from here again thanks for saving me” She whispered as I looked at her started to walk away. I wanted to follow her but at the same time I wanted to know what my mom had told her that I couldn’t hear. All I know was that it made my mom cry. I went back into the house feeling mad at myself for letting her go, I wanted to start a friendship with her she seemed so familiar, like I’ve seen her before but I don’t know where or when.

Vanessa’s POINT OF VIEW

Go to sleep, go to sleep. After an hour of sleeping I woke up, and now it’s 1:00 A.M. and I couldn’t sleep it was like if all the tiredness I felt was completely gone in an hour of sleep. This is getting out of hand, the pills aren’t working. The only thing that I knew that would help me to go to sleep was my teddy bear and I didn’t have it, Adam did. I told him to take him just in case he forgot about me. I got out of bed and walked next door.

Knock, knock

“Adam? Are you still awake?”

Knock, knock

“Ad-“

“Hey ugly duckling, what you doing up? Are you trying to sleep with your brother?” Amanda whispered. I could smell alcohol in her breath. She been drinking again, and caused greater danger to me if Adam didn’t open his door.

“No, I actually came to get something or should I say someone to help me sleep.”

“Maybe I could help you, you know if you let me knock you out!” she said a bit too loud and harsh. I was leaning against the door when my brother opened it, causing me to fall on my butt. Adam had a furious face and when he was mad no one could stop him.

“Oh no the only here who is going to get knocked out is you stupid little gold digger!”

“Adam! Don’t! Please don’t! Adam!” I tried stopping him, he only slapped me in the face, making me fall on the ground, “SHUT UP! VANESSA!”

I looked at him with tears in my eyes, I will not cry, I will not show him wants to see. When he realized what he had done he had regret in his eyes.

“Essie, I’m sssoo sorry please forgive me, you know it was an accident.” He told me crouching down to reach my eye level.

“I guess my job here is done.” Amanda said laughing evilly to her room.

“Adam, do you still have Mr. Halo?” I asked him ignoring what had told me.

“Yeah, do you want him? I can go get him for you if you want.”

“Yes please, and Adam I believe you just don’t do it again. Please.”

“Whatever you say Mrs. Halo, and why are you still up?” He chuckled, as he handed me Mr. Halo.

“Adam you remember that, and I have Insomnia, I really can’t sleep.” I said as  I held Mr. Halo against my chest as I got up to go to my bedroom.

“Oh yeah I forgot, didn’t mom have that? And what happened with your best friend Julio Hernandez?”

“Yeah mom did have that and we’re not friends any more, well goodnight”

“Goodnight sis.”
