Kensi's POV

It had been exactly 3 days since Deeks and I almost kissed. A part of me wished that we hadn't been interrupted but the other half of me was glad that nothing happened.

I mean what would have happened after the kiss? What would have happened if it was bad? What would have happened if it was good?

All the answers to these questions would have put a strain on our partnership.

We had to keep it professional from now on, otherwise the consequences could be catastrophic

But oh how I missed his gentle touch against me, the way his warm breath felt against me sending a shiver down my spine

No!

I had to get my mind off Deeks. I decided to go for a run whilst also doing further work on the case. Like we were supposed to be doing

We were sent a package from Ops. It was a small device that was suppose to help narrow down a wifi signal that was being used to hack into the Us military weapons systems

It would also help me stop thinking about Deeks and start thinking about the case again

We had to solve it as quickly as possible so everything could go back to normal

Deeks POV

If I'd have known how much Kensi and I almost kissing would have affected her I would never have done it. But I was sick of holding back my feelings. It was so hard to resist her, especially since we have been spending everyday together for the past few weeks. I had gotten up early this morning to try and catch her but she was already gone. Just like every morning for the past 3 days. I couldn't take it any longer

Kensi's POV

"You're almost done Kensi, just a few more seconds," Eric said through my earpiece. I had been jogging through the neighbourhood for about half an hour and I was getting tired

"Okay you're done, we'll send the results to you when we get them,"

"Okay...thanks Eric," I said through puffs

I walked back home slowly catching my breath and once I had I started jogging again.

As I approached our door I hoped Deeks was out I quietly opened the door and checked to see if he was home

Satisfied that he wasn't home I walked through to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. When I turned around a strong force pushed me against the fridge door

It was Deeks

"Why have you been avoiding me?" He asked. I couldn't reply as he caught me off guard and I was still trying to catch my breath. All I could really do was just stare at him dumbly

"Ever since the other day I've barely seen you," he continued

"I've been working on the case Deeks, like you should be!" I snapped breaking free from his grasp

"I haven't been able to focus because you take up every part of me that thinks and feels!"

"We aren't suppose to feel Deeks! We have to keep our feelings out of this! You know that! Think of what we would jeopardise if we let feelings get in the way!"

"You'd be jeopardising a chance of happiness!"

"I was happy! I was perfectly happy! Until I met you and you made me realise how lonely I really am!" The tears started to fall from my face. I meant every word. Ever since I met Deeks I was able to feel and I was able to plan and imagine my future. My life had a purpose and seeing him happy made me happy. My whole life started when I met him and my whole life revolves around him.

He rubbed the tears from my eyes and pulled me into a firm hug and I just cried in his arms

We stood there for a few minutes in the kitchen. Deeks just held me in his arms and rubbed my back

We eventually got a call from Ops which interrupted the moment

"Hello," I answered

"Hey Kensi,"
