My hand shook as it hovered over the send button; I think I've read the message about 100 times at least.

B: hey Jongdae, it's me baekhyun :)

I huffed before debating to just send it. I immediately curled up under my blanket, with my heart thumping so hard. What if he thinks I sound to desperate?

Nether less, I heard my phone beeped a few seconds later. I peeked out under my blanket to see the notification.

One new message from Jongdae 💕

My palm started sweating as I held the phone to my face.
 
J: hi baekkie :)

My cheeks turned red from the sudden nickname.

B: no fair, I should have a nickname for you too :(

J: well then just call me Chen, that's what my parents call me so..

B: alright chennie ;)

I can't believe this. I sound so cringey while Im typing, not to mention... what kind of flirting is this?

B: can I ask you a question?

J: ok

B: don't get me wrong but... why don't you talk? Don't tell me if you don't want too...

J: no it's fine, it's just because of my past...

B: mind telling me about it?

J: promise not to laugh?

B: pinky swear :)

J: it was back in sixth grade... I used to love singing... and talking of course... and everyone used to compliment me for my voice... until one day, a new girl showed up. She told me how terrible my singing sounds, and how annoying my voice is. At first it didn't bother me as much, until I started getting bullied because of it. I even got beaten up in the bathroom floor during 7th grade. So ever since that day, I vowed to never talk again. The end.

B: Dae... I'm sorry :(

J: for what?

B: I'm just... sorry... will you ever let me hear your voice someday?

J: probably not... I haven't talked in years... who knows how I sound like now...

B: oh alright...

J: yeah... do me a favor ... send me a pic please? I need to feel better and somehow, seeing your face makes me smile.

My heart skipped a beat at that moment. I was touched by his story, and now his words are driving me insane.

B: only if you send me one too ;)

J: ....mm ok.
