Chapter 35

Rosie's POV:

Of course. Just my luck. Everything is going great and then it somehow gets messed up. In this case it's Austin's fault.

When I opened the kitchen door he was sitting on one of the food preparation tables with some brown-haired girl in his lap, making out.

When he heard the door burst open he stopped what he was doing and looked up. He saw me standing there and he looked like a deer caught in headlights.

"Rosie..." He said as he sat the brown haired girl down on the table and stood up, taking a step toward me. I only backed up a step from him. I turned around to leave, but he grabbed my wrist.

"Get your hands of me." I snarled at him. He looked hurt at my outburst but I didn't care.

"Rosie, please let me explain." He begged.

"First of all, don't call me Rosie. Second of all, there's nothing to explain Austin. It's my sixteenth birthday, and I haven't seen you, my boyfriend, all day. I was looking all over for you. My best friends got me amazing presents and there wasn't a single thing from you. Then I find that your cheating on me. So, don't go trying to explain what just happened because I saw it very clearly. I don't need to hear you make up a bunch of excuses. Oh but don't mind me. You can go have fun with that girl again. You aren't cheating on me anymore because I'm not dating you anymore." I stepped out of the kitchen while he stared at me wide-eyed. I walked down the hallway and back towards the party.

I push my way through the crowd of dancing bodies until I finally make it to the front. I'm almost out the door when I hear someone calling my name. I turn around and see Josh, dancing on the dance floor with a wide smile while looking at me. His expression changes though, and his smile has been replace by a frown. I guess he can read me better than I thought.

Before he could call me over to dance or to ask what was wrong, I turn around and walk out the door. Today was one of the best nights of my life. I got to have an amazing party with the people I love and I also got to make new friends. But despite how wonderful the night was, Austin ruined it and I didn't want to stay in that building any longer.

My hands slipped to the opposite sides of my body and my arms crossed. It is kind of chilly out tonight. I guess I should have expected that because it is fall. And Eleanor's dress she made me wear apparently didn't come with a jacket.

My blue heels clicked against the pavement as I marched back towards the hotel. I only had about another block to go so it wasn't going to be much longer.

When I passed an alleyway, I saw an old man sitting against the wall with a beaten t-shirt and pair of shorts. He didn't have any blankets, pillows, food, he didn't have anything. I stood at the entrance to the alleyway and looked at the man with pity.

I then realized that I had Harry's 100 euros in my hand. Now, I could either use it to buy a bunch of charms for a bracelet, or I could give it to someone who actually needs something. And I guess that after everything that happened today, it gave me the courage to walk straight up to that man and give him my money.

I closed his hand around the money and he gave me a smile.

"Thank you Miss." He kindly said as I waved to him and exited the alley. As I continued my walk down the sidewalk to the hotel, I got a feeling that I was being watched. I looked around me but saw nothing so I just quickened my pace until I finally reached the hotel. I took another glance behind me but when I didn't see anything, I turned and entered the hotel.

I walked across the empty lobby and hit the elevator button. After a minute or so, the doors opened and I stepped into the elevator. When it's not full, it's actually quite spacious in here.
