She walked through those wide double-doors, bringing the wilderness inside with her as her sundress danced with the wind. The sun was burning brightly behind her; oranges and warm yellows radiating from behind her body. Her skin glowed and her face was illuminated by the wild colors of the sunset.
I sat dazed at the beauty in front of me. The natural, round face that glanced at the floor innocently. Her small arms, dangling at her side gracefully as she grabbed at her dress. And then her head slowly lifted a bit to look at me. Her eyes, the deepest of blues, seemed to have so many layers to them as her look pierced straight through me. And that's when the happiest of grins met her lips as she threw her hair to the side and turned in a wide circle; bringing her magnificent, layered dress with her.
"You are the sun and the moon. The sunrise and the sunset. The mountain and the beach. All in one" I whisper softly as she danced back towards the patio, her feet bare, her dress trailing behind her.
I smiled, tracing the outline of the tile on the worn kitchen counters.
