Sometimes it makes you feel small
How they talk to you
Behind that pen they mark and erase
Should I change as my heart swells?
Should I hold on to this fading feeling?
Is it worth the engraving?
The aching?
Do I need to continue to dream of you?
Just to keep you alive.
Or should I let you slip away?
In the groggy of the morning
The blur of closed eyes
The constant of sliding cars
Should I let you blend out
Into the peaches of the sky
Or the tangerine of the evenings
Are you deserving of those wonderful
Colors?
Or should you gather the night sky instead
But if I lent you that task
Would you steal the stars away?
Or polish their shine
YOU ARE READING
Bloom.
