School finally was over and josh was sprinting down the halls, it was time school let out and josh was late for his bus.
"Damn it" Josh said bent over breathing heavily. Josh was where the bus picked up the students but the bus was no where to be seen. Josh turned around quickly and started running for the front entrance for the school. The sharpie that was tucked behind his ear had fallen so he turned around and bent over to pick it up.
"Josh!" he turned to find Tyler calling his name.
"Need something?"Josh asked, jogging over to where Tyler was standing.
"Yeah, actually can you help me get home..I missed my bus" Tyler said looking down embarrassed. "I just moved here from Ohio, i'm still not familiar with the town."
"No worries, where are you from in Ohio?" Josh asked
"Columbus" Tyler responded looking a little sad
"No way! I grew up in Columbus" Josh said eyes lighting up
"Oh that's so cool" Tyler said cheering up a little.
Josh started walking down the sidewalk with Tyler following him quietly.
"Are you dating anyone?" Josh asked looking at the floor.
"Uh..no" Tyler said looking at the back of Josh's head. Tyler had an odd expression on his face, the kind of expression that said 'Can you repeat that i must have heard you wrong' or 'Why do you want to know' or both. The rest of their walk was relatively quiet, execpt for the few questions Josh asked about where Tyler lived.
About 20 minutes later they arrived at Tyler's house. The light green house on the edge of the forest.
"Cya, Tyler. I'll text you later" Josh hollered and looked back at Tyler who was waving at Josh. Josh continued down the sidewalk kicking a old soda can along with him. Did he really just ask Tyler if he was single. Josh kicked the soda can into the ditch that was next to the sidewalk. He finally reached his house and ran up his stairs. He swung the door open causing the door knob to smash into the wall with a partially loud bang. Josh threw his book bag across the room and fell face first onto his bed. He turned over to his side as was now facing his wall. He checked his phone. The phone light lit up his small dark room. He squinted and tried to read the time. It was only 11. He signed and threw his phone onto his nightstand. Unfortunately he missed and his phone landed in his trash can. He groaned when he realized he just threw his goddamn phone in the trash.
"Dammit." he groaned into his pillow before turning over and grabbing his phone out of the trash and placing it on his nightstand. Then turning back over and falling asleep.
