I nudged Cato and we slowly stood up. They hadn't noticed us yet. I clutched my knife by it's handle and threw it, burying it in Katniss' leg. She yelped as she and Peeta stood up. Cato ran to Katniss and pushed her down. Katniss shot an arrow into Cato's arm, and he fell back. I ran and tackled Peeta, and raised a new knife over his head. Katniss stood up, aiming her arrow at me. I stood Peeta up and spun him around, and put the knife under his throat. She pointed the arrow at my head, but I blocked myself with Peeta.

"Isn't this funny? Lover Boy, then you." I exclaimed. "Looks like we're in the same situation as before, except no one is here to stop me!" I grinned as Katniss pointed her arrow at me. I quickly put Peeta in the way. I put my hand around his neck, and started pressing on it the way Thresh had. Katniss averted her aim and shot me in the hand. I gasped in pain and Peeta elbowed me in the stomach. I stabbed him in the leg and he fell to the side, grasping onto the Cornucopia for his life. The mutts waited anxiously below. I looked over as Katniss pointed her arrow at my head and shot.

"Clove!" Cato yelled. He sprinted and jumped in front of me.

"Cato no!!!" I screamed as I ran to Cato. I was too late. The arrow had pierced his upper stomach. Katniss went over to help Peeta and I knelt beside Cato. He grasped the arrow and pulled it out of his stomach. I realized that there was nothing I could do. Tears started falling out of my eyes.

"It's okay." Cato said as a single tear ran down his cheek. He slowly put his hand around my necklace. "You can win this. For me. Together... or not at all." I leaned him and kissed him. His head shifted back and his eyes stared into the sky. The cannon fired. I started crying into his shirt, begging him to stay with me.

I heard Katniss and Peeta stand up, and I stopped crying. My expression darkened. Katniss had done this. And she would pay. I threw three knives into Peeta, and they all stuck. One in his heart, stomach, and neck. He fell back as the cannon fired. The mutts cleared. The sky grew lighter, and Katniss jumped down from the Cornucopia. I clutched another knife and followed. I was about to throw it when I heard Claudius' voice.

"Congratulations to the victors of the 74th Hunger Games, Clove Kentwell, and Katniss Everdeen!" He finished. I gasped loudly and Katniss dropped her bow. I  saw my chance and ran towards her with my knife. A glass box, kind of like the tube at the beginning of the games, surrounded Katniss before I could reach her. I screamed as I attacked the glass. The box began to raise Katniss up to a hovercraft.

Another hovercraft came to collect Peeta. Katniss was looking over at him, but not crying. I saw another one come. For Cato. I ran up to the top of the cornucopia again, where he was, and laid against him. They couldn't take him away from me. The claw of the hovercraft pushed me away, and I saw as it brought him up. The ring that I made for him dropped from his finger onto the Cornucopia and I slipped it on my finger. I watched as Cato's body went into the sky. And I knew that I would never see him again. I dropped to the ground, suddenly weak, and cried.
