CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
On most evenings, before they all sat down to eat, Paul would take his towel, a candle in a glass jar, and walk westwards along to the end of the beach. In the shadow of the trees, and right down by the water's edge, were a group of smooth rocks. His meditation had been encouraged by Elina. For Paul it was a way to unwind, to think of nothing, and to absorb the sound of the gentle waves. So he sat, crossed legged, and concentrated on the flickering candle flame in front of him.
