I sit here by the fireplace
Its warmth does not affect me
I once had loved its scarlet haze
Now, gray is all I seeAre they not whole and strong, these logs?
Yet now, they burn to ashes
They tell me of all that I was

Another freezing nightA/N Hi, guys! So in English class, we learned about poetry. I happen to kind of really like poetry ( >.< ) so I tried to write a sonnet. It is so much harder to write! There is a very specific number of lines (fourteen) and a very specific rhyming pattern (first and third, second and fourth, last two lines). I took one and a half hours on this thing. I hope you enjoy, though this is a very meager attempt.
xoxo, mavis jane
