High School Sucks

I always knew that high school was going to suck but I never knew how bad it was going to be until I actually set foot on it.

High school has been the worst experience of my life and my depression or suicidal thoughts aren't helping either.

It seems like no matter what I do I always end up making things worse with other people. I tried to fit in and to make myself unnoticeable. Sadly nothing works. I was walking to my locker with my head hung low, not wanted to make eye contact with anyone. When I open my locker and got my books out, I heard laughing coming from the other side of the hallway.

Great, here they come.

I closed my locker and tried to hurry over to my next class. Out of nowhere, my books suddenly got knocked over and went flying to the ground. I went to pick them up and as I was on the ground, I felt the air get knocked out of me.

Laughing was all I heard as I was on the ground trying to get the air back into my lungs. I looked up with tears threatening to come out as I was faced with the person who left me alone just for popularity

Luke Hemmings.

" Awe is little Alyssa wanting to cry," he said laughing as he came closer to me "pathetic."

He then walked away with his little crowed laughing.

I stayed on the ground not believing how he left me. How he was the one who promised to protect me if anyone was going to hurt me. The one that made a promise to always be my best friend no matter what. Now he's hurting me. Mentally and Physically.

"Alyssa! Are you okay?" a voice calls out as they rushed over helping me get up.

" Yea. I'm fine Ashton"

"I hate what those jerks do to you.." as he shook his head and helped me collect my books and handing them to me.

"Hey, I'm fine. As long as I have you right?" I smiled at him and he gives me a slight one.

"You'll always have me, Alyssa. No matter how bad it gets."

Ashton has been there for me since I was in a freshman. After Luke left me I was alone. I didn't know anybody but as I sat down that first day of school I was thankful for having been paired up with someone who actually cares about you.

He helped me get up and started to walk to our first class of the day. I saw Luke give me a smug look on his face as if he was proud of what he did this morning.

You're honestly the worst thing on the planet.

Looking down, I went to my seat with Ashton behind me.

"Okay everyone please take a seat," as everyone rushes to their desks.

"Great. Welcome Seniors to the first day of your last year. I hope everyone has had a wonderful morning. Here at Norwest Christian College, it is mandatory for all of you to get a passing grade in this class, considering that it's a health class."

I started drawing on my notebook as it's the same speech every year just different topics.

"Our first assignments is going to be able to care for a child for the whole 1st semester. I will be pairing every one of you into groups and you will become the official 'parents' of the doll."

As soon as I heard that I stood up straight wondering who I was going to be paired up with for the whole semester. I looked at Ashton who looked just as curious as I do.

"As I call your names please come up front and pick the doll and sit next to your partner as you will be seated with them the whole semester."

He then put a box on his desk and grabbed his clipboard, "also once I named your pairs there is not switching. Fail to work together, you fail my class."

As he starts naming the 'couples' I grab Ashton's hand and start to draw on it seeing as we both haven't been named.

"Ashton and Kimberly...Luke and Alyssa"
