Gregory James
I felt something hitting my head. It wasn't painful but it woke me. I squeezed my eyes shut before open them fully and see I was still in class. Ms. Magnolia was still talking like a bitch and the room was silent. I looked at the ground and found a small paper ball on the floor.
I leaned in and held the ball with one hand while the other rested on the desk so I could keep myself from not falling on the floor.
I leaned back and opened the small paper ball. It said:
'Hey sleepy head. Going to Samatha's tonight?'
I rolled my eyes and looked at Finn, who sat right behind me not believing what he just had done. Of course I knew it was him, who else could be? I know my best friend more then anyone, and that means I know how stupid he can be sometimes. I can recognize Finn's work of art from anywhere and this little paper ball I'm holding right here is definitely one of his.
I gave him the best death-look I could come up, angry with the fact that he had woke me up for nothing. Actually, for something he could wait for the end of the class to ask. I decided then to surprise him by throwing the paper that I had crumpled again and making it hit him right in the forehead.
"Hey!" He cried a little louder then he should've.
I quickly turned around praying that Ms. Magnolia hadn't heard that. For my luck her audible sense wasn't the best so she didn't even noticed what had just happened.
I let out a sigh in relief but the sound of Finn's laugh behind me only made things worst. I tried to hold mine as well but I sure did failed. Now we were both laughing really loud. And every one could hear it. Even Ms. Magnolia.
"Mr. Bradshaw, Mr. James? Is there anything you would like to share with us?" Her bitchy voice hurt my ears.
"N-no Ms. Magnolia." Finn was the first to speak and I agreed with him nodding scared.
She then came closer to our desk. I wasn't sure of what she was doing but I figured it out when she opened my empty notebook. I gulped as I felt my heart skipping a beat. Her expression didn't change though, she moved over to Finn's desk and did the same thing and well, had the same result.
"Hum..." She shook her head slowly before saying what I was really hoping she wouldn't have said.
"Perhaps you two would like to spend sometime with me in detention after class." She simply said. I noticed how people were staring at us. Scared to let out a laugh too, scared of Ms. Magnolia.
Not scared. Terrified. That's kind of the effect she has on us.
"Sorry Ms. Magnolia" Finn and I said in unison, even though I knew well that both him and I didn't mean it. I turned again rolling my eyes. She muttered something about us that thankfully I didn't understand and walked back to the white board.
The rest of the class was as annoying as always and this time I couldn't get back to my sleep since she was now keeping an eyes on us. How wonderful. At least she could be good looking... It would disgust me less i think.
I let out a breath as I heard the bell going off. Everyone stood up and stretched before leaving the room.
I punched Finn's arm the moment we were free of that living hell.
"What was that for?" He whined while massaging the area I had just punched him.
"You know very well why I did it! Couldn't you have waited to ask me that?" I yelled. He shrugged, which really pissed me off.
