Gregory James
"Brooke, just hear me out!" I was almost begging but she did nothing but ignore me as she walked down the hallway. She was walking pretty fast and I had to push a few people away to keep up with her.
I got a big impulse and finally reached her. Touching her shoulder, I managed to get her atention.
"What do you want? Huh?" I had never seen her that angry before.
"Look, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to stand you up! I had a few problems at home. I swear." I apologized glancing at my both sides to see if anyone was staring.
I'm not exactly the type of guy who likes to make a fuzz and get attention. As a matter of fact, I hate it. I get all nervous when people stare at me and it just makes me want to hide. And that sucked not only because it made me look weak but because Brooke didn't care. I was starting to get worried.
"I don't fucking care that you stood me up!" With that, I noticed we had got some attention already, which was making me a little nervous.
However, for some reason I was more preoccupied about her not ever wanting to speak to me again that I got to push that nervousness to the back of my head.
"Then what is this about?" I was confused.
"Greg!" She sighed looking down. Breathing in deeply, "I'm not the kind of girl who waits one fucking hour for a guy! Fuck! I really thought we were going on well and you just fucked things up!" She threw her hands in the air and turned to walk again. I didn't let her.
"I'm sorry." I tried once more.
Please say you forgive me.
She sighed and looked up before looking down at me again.
"I've got to go, Greg. Please stop following me." She simply said before turning again and walking away from me, leaving me alone in the middle of the crowded hallway. I was speechless.

Flashback
"So, are you really going on a date with the Brooke Havens?" Finn asked for like the 10th time that day.
"Oh my God! What the hell is your problem. I've told you already." I was irritated.
"I just can't believe it! I mean, it's Brooke Havens we're taking about and you don't seem very excited about getting into her pants." He said.
He actually thought I was getting into her pants that quickly?
"It's not like that, she's not that. We're just friends.." I had to admit.
"I bet you just want to fuck her". He said with a shrug.
"I really don't. She's really a great friend, but I'm not saying that if someday she wants to take another step I wouldn't gladly accept." I told him smirking. He laughed and shook his head.
"Hey, did you see Samantha at the party? I told you she looked hot." He said.
"She wasn't even that hot, man."
"Are you crazy? She looked beautiful!".
"I'm sorry, beautiful? Are you crushing hard on her or something?" I teased him laughing.
"Oh, look who's speaking!" He replied and I laughed even more. Not because of what he just had said but because he didn't even denied he was indeed crushing on Sam. It's not that I have problems with that, it's just that the image of Finn liking someone is funny and kind of weird to be honest.
"Whatever." he said rolling his eyes. I slowly stopped laughing.
"Okay sorry, tell me how it started." I asked.
"I don't know." He said quietly.
"Of course you do! Tell me." I insisted.
Then he mumbled something I just couldn't understand.
"What?" I asked him leaning forward to hear him better.
Again he said something I didn't understand and that's when I figured he was doing on purpose.
"Just tell me already!" I shouted.
"A bet okay? It was all because of a fucking bet! Happy?".
I widened my eyes not believing what he had just said.
"A what?" I asked once more.
"You heard me right. A bet. B-E-T" He answered.
Dear Lord what an asshole.
"You are joking right? What the hell was the bet?" I asked.
"Screwing her.." He felt shame, I could tell.
Finn wasn't like that, he would never do something like that.
"Who bet you to do that?"
"Daniels" He mumbled.
Can't say I'm surprised.
"I know what you're going to say, Greg. I know it was a horrible thing for me to do but I don't care okay? At least I got to know her and well I think I really like her."
"Did you tell her?" I asked him.
By the look on his face it was a no.
"Fuck." I swore running my finger though my hair.
He sighed. "But I will, okay? I just need to figure it out how and when." he said, which made me a little more relieved. Poor girl.
"Tell her before it get serious." I warned him actually worried. I know It's really non of my buisness but this is the first time my best friend has a crush ever since his last girlfriend. I will not let him screw things up because of a stupid bet.
"I will. It's going to be alright."
Finn stood up from my bed a few minutes after that. "Well, I should be going now. Where will you meet Brooke?" He asked getting his keys. I got up as well to walk him out.
"I'm meeting her for lunch then I'll visit a place she volunteers for. A pet something." I informed him. He nodded smirking and tapped my shoulder.
"Good luck, man" He smiled.
"You too. Now get out, you idiot."
I walked with him to the door and locked it after he left. My thoughts were all on Brooke now.
~
I looked at my reflection once again in the mirror. I smelled the t-shirt I was wearing to just to make sure it wasn't smelly. I shrugged happy with the result and started to look around the room for my wallet.
Suddenly I heard my name being yelled from downstairs. It was my mother and she sounded desperate. I ran to where she was.
"They found Rob".
