Meredith probably isn't paying attention to every little thing that jc is doing for kian/to kian and that's where she's making her mistake. Your boyfriend flirts with his best friend. His best friend flirts back. Not only did his best friend try to kiss, he highkey took him on a damn date. It wasn't just because of his fucking movie and anybody can see that. He could have did some simple shit, he didn't have to pull that limo shit or that helicopter shit, but he DID. In my mind I feel like jc has definitely developed a soft spot for kian because back in 2015, he wouldn't dare let kian kiss him, he wouldn't flirt this much and he wouldn't really try to kiss him and say flirty shit let alone take him out on a date like he's doing this year.
