I tie my apron around my waist and grab my notepad and pen, making sure I had everything.
'Straws?...check...napkins?...check...notepad?...check...pen?...check..' Seeming to have everything, I walk out of the kitchen and over to table three. A lady, in her late seventies, was here once again. Couldn't mark a day she wasn't here.

"Mrs. Carol!" I smile, stopping right in front of her.

She smiles, putting down her bag, and looking up at me. "O-oh hello, dear! How are you?" She asks, now looking through her menu.

"I'm doing fine. How about you? I heard you won bingo against your sister the other day!" I let out a light laugh.

"Oh gracious- that- oh her! She's always bragging about me. So kind, so kind."
I pull out my notebook, getting my pen ready and looked up at her. "You ready to order, ma'am?"

She takes a glance at the menu, pointing to it with her pink nailed finger.
She orders the usual: A hot hazelnut coffee, and pancakes with slight drizzle of syrup. An everyday breakfast for her that never gets old.

"I'll be right back with your meal." She thanks me as I walk back into the kitchen, pinning the piece of paper with her order on a pin.
I walk over to another table, getting set for their orders as well.

Work everyday is such a hassle. Getting up at five, having to be at Sadelle's breakfast restaurant, by six am, and then coming back to the apartment at eight. It's long work hours, but it pays well. Forgetting to add, I'm off every Friday and Saturday. Those are my days to relax.

"ANDIE! ORDER FOR TABLE THREE! ON THE DOT LET'S GO!" My boss yelled, slamming on the counter top.

I run back over to the counter where all the made food lays out, and look for number three.

Aha!

I grab the plate of pancakes, putting between my bicep and forearm, then the tea in my left hand. I hurry down to Mrs. Carols table, and carefully sit the plate and cup down in front of her.

"Here you are, Mrs. Carol. Three pancakes baked to perfection, with a golden glow. And fresh hazelnut coffee." I say, picking up her menu, putting that under my arm.

"It looks wonderful as ever! Thank you, child." She smiles at me before digging into her meal.

Off to the rest of the tables..

After a long days at work, it was finally time to call it a night. Everyone was gone by now, workers, customers. It was pretty much empty.

"Good work today, Andie. Keep it up and you might get a raise." My head boss said.
She was the person who ran this whole business, she has it all. The loving husband, the talents, the brains, the humor, the looks, the money. Gosh, there's nothing you can name that she doesn't have.

"Thank you! Thank you, ma'am!" Getting a raise would be great. I needed some more money, I hated borrowing from my roommate, but hey, it's free money. Oh, I'm just kidding.

She nods at me, wiping down some more tables as I head to the door. I slid my back pack
on, and start to jog down the sidewalk towards the apartment.

Thank goodness for all the lights that were all around. If they weren't any, I wouldn't be able to see a darn thing. And being me, I would bound to fall, or have something bad to happen.

Reaching for my phone in my back pocket, it started vibrating loudly.

I slow down to a walk and slide open my phone, the harsh light blinding my eyes.

I slide open and put the phone up to my ear, hearing the yelling voice of my roommate.

"Andie! Where the heck are you?! It's almost ten!" She yelled, me shaking my head annoyed.

"Calm down, mom. I'm on my way," I let out a sarcastic chuckle, "I just decided to jog home today, rather than taking the subway."

April sighed, "Ok, well, sorry. Be home soon, it's movie night!"

I laughed to myself, remembering that every Thursday was movie night. After work, we'd always pop a bowl of popcorn, and sit down to watch the most stupidest movies out there. It's a great time.

"Oh I almost forgot! Well, I'm coming up to the apartment now. Be there in a giff." I push open the apartment doors, heading towards the elevators.

I push the button and welcome myself inside. Luckily, there wasn't anyone in here this time- usually there's a few people here.

The elevator stopped on the eight floor, the doors opening, reveling a man in all black with a strange mask on.

"Move." He growled, pulling me out of the elevator and him rushing in. He closed the door and the elevator went all the way down to the lobby, that was rude.

"Psh, well some people are in a rush for NO reason." I grumble, opening the door to my room.

I walk in seeing April, my roommate, flicking through the channels with a bowl of popcorn all set besides her.

"About time. Get over here, I found a movie." She gestured towards her and pressed play.

I simply smile to myself, putting down my bag and jacket, then sitting down on the couch next to her.

"What are we watching?" I ask, popping a piece of popcorn in my mouth.

"Benchwarmers." She smirked, making me laugh.

"Aw come on, April!" She laughed, me meeting my brown eyes to her aquamarine ones.

"This movie is terrible, but so great!" She added, turning up the volume.

I chuckle and sit back, 'I have a crazy roommate.'
