Not sure how good this one's gonna be. Bear with me, I've got lots to do at the moment haha. Hope you'll still enjoy it. Requested by EmilyJanuzaj
"Please may we inform all passengers that large items of hand baggage must be stowed in overhead lockers." A cheery flight attendant announced over the PA system.
I scanned the seats around me as I made my way along the plane, stuck behind people squeezing into their seats and placing their hand luggage above them. Soon, I arrived at seat 12B to be met with the sight of a handsome stranger already sitting at the window seat next to mine. He was scrolling through his phone, not looking up at all. Shyly, I sat beside him. He looked up and caught my eye, his gaze lingering there for a second. I buckled myself in, pulling out a magazine to read for the journey.
After a while, everybody had boarded the plane and the captain informed us that we would be taking off soon. I gulped. I didn't mind flying, that was fine, but taking off and landing I'm not okay with. The engines fired up, producing a huge sound and causing my body to shake with all the violent vibrations sent through me. We started travelling across the runway and I gripped the armrests with all my might.
In my panic, I hadn't noticed that my left hand had been holding on to the armrest and this stranger's hand. He gave me a sideways glance, forcing me to remove my hand, embarrassed at what I'd accidentally done. There was suddenly a particularly violent jerk of the plane and my hand shot back to where it was. Sensing my discomfort, he gently took my hand in his and ran his thumb across it, trying to calm me.
As we left the ground and began gliding through the air, we gradually let go of each other.
"I'm Denis, by the way." He said, looking at me intently.
I smiled and introduced myself.
"Y/N, what a beautiful name!" His gaze met mine and we giggled in the awkwardness.
Throughout the rest of the plane journey, we talked and talked about all kinds of things
"Wait, so you lobbed Novak Djokovic and he applauded you?" I questioned, laughing at the humorous anecdote he'd told me.
"Yep, and the crowd went crazy!" He told me, his accent prominent in his voice.
We laughed about all sorts of things during the journey, not noticing how the time imperceptibly ticked on. As we took a break from our lengthy conversation, our eyes were met with the stunning sight of the Sun, sparkling softly in the sky. The rays penetrated through the windows, giving our surroundings a warm tint. I hadn't noticed the time until I involuntarily yawned, resting my head on his wide shoulders. He snaked his arm around me, pulling me closer to him and letting me lay there, being my support.
I'm so sorry that was so short, I just felt like if I continued it would've been tedious and boring but I hope it was fluffy enough. ❤️
