Song for this chapter: Imogen Heap-Hide and Seek.
Only one guy I know has a voice that deep and dark. It could only belong to the one and only, Hunter Jones.
''Get in the car Libby!'' He seethed through gritted teeth as he pushed me towards his car making me stumble slightly, but I quickly composed myself. I made eye contact with Grayson as he looked between a mixture of shocked and angry. I think he was shocked that Hunter pushed me.
Why would he care?
Hunter pushed Grayson's chest but he didn't even stumble or flinch. ''What you talking to my girl for'' Hunter cursed in a fit of anger. 'My girl' last time I checked, nothing was official between us.
''We were having a friendly conversation, nothing wrong with that'' Grayson barks back with confidence, making Hunter just get angrier and angrier as the seconds tick by.
I was watching the two of them stare at each other both with different looks apparent on their faces. Hunter looked as though he wanted to murder Grayson but Grayson didn't look one bit affected by Hunter's intimidating stare.
Hunter had his face nearly stuck on Grayson's but Grayson didn't seem affected by it at all, he looked like he hadn't a care in the world which surprised me to be honest. I thought he would cower away and never attempt to speak to me again but that is the exact opposite of what was going on right now.
''She's mine'' Hunter seethed. That was like a blow to the chest, again why does he speak of me like i'm some type of object?
''Last time I checked, she wasn't an object'' Grayson spoke back calmly but confidently, making Hunter roll his eyes.
It actually felt nice having someone stick up for me for once. I usually just tell someone to fuck off if they're about to because really I can look after myself. I've been doing it my whole life.
It happened so fast, that in a blink of an eye you would have missed it. Hunter raised his right arm and went to hit Grayson in the face but I calmly touched his arm pulling him back.
''Calm down'' I whispered into his ear. He looked over at me and those two words seemed to just push him over the edge. He looked around the car park to see if anyone was watching and before I knew it he raised his right arm once again and hit me in the face, sending me flying down on the cold, hard pavement.
I could feel blood pumping out from my nose and the strong metal taste in my mouth. He actually hit me? he never did that before, yes he had poked me and pulled my hair but that was as bad as it got until now.
Holding onto my cheek that I knew will soon form a bruise,I looked up and my eyes landed on Grayson looking so shocked as though he had seen a ghost.
Then in a blink of an eye without any warning or sign, he pounced on Hunter who looked proud for making my nose bleed.
My vision was dizzy as I tried standing on my two feet, my groceries luckily didn't end up all over the pavement, they were still in their bags but just dropped on the ground. When my vision cleared enough to where I could see everything that was happening in front of me, I was expecting to see Hunter attempting to break Grayson's God like face but that wasn't the sight that was in front of me.
The sight that was in front of me was one I never thought I would ever see. Hunter wasn't trying to break Grayson's face, it was the other way around.
Grayson had Hunter pinned down as he kept punching Hunter in the face throwing him into an unconscious state. I ran over to them, my heart racing, and pulled Grayson back. When I did, he was breathing heavy and wiped some blood away from his face. I couldn't look at Hunter without cringing, his left eye was already starting to bruise and blood was rushing from his nose as he lay there unconscious.
