I was out of the neither, and Orion was yelling at me. Both boys had been shocked that I disobeyed them, and got myself into trouble. But on the bright side, I know where Marcie's sword had gone, inside me. I smiled a little at the thought that I was no longer defenseless, but Orion took it as a sign of disobedience.
"Why are you smiling? You almost died! If we hadn't found you when we did, you'd be dead right now!"
"But I'm not. I defended myself against those stupid trolls until you showed up. I call that a B+ for teamwork."
Leo shook his head. "That's not the point. Sky, you could've died. Do you know how much that would've hurt me?"
I turned to Leo, and he sincerely looked worried. "You're right. I'm sorry. I won't do it again when you're not there."
The dog boy, who had been watching this whole exchange, burst out laughing. "You guys are a riot!"
Orion and Leo glared at him. "Shut up!"
I smiled at the dog boy. "What's your name?"
He scoffed at me. "Wouldn't you like to know."
Orion glared at him. "I could always kill you, and then we won't have to worry about you ever again."
Dog boy's glare wavered, but he quickly covered it up. "Grey."
I smiled. "Nice to meet you Grey. I'm Skylar, but you can call me Sky. The one with cat ears is my fri...boyfriend Leo, and the annoying one is Orion."
Orion glared at me. "Can you not go one day without insulting me?"
"Can you not go one day scolding me?"
He sighed. "That's fair."
I turned back to Grey. "Are you a dog demon?"
His face darkened. "Hell no! I am not a dog. I am a wolf. More dignified, and I'm not somebodies pet slave."
"Sorry. No offense. I just thought-"
"You thought wrong!"
Leo's ears bristled. "Back off. She just made a mistake. Besides with all that yipping I almost thought you were a dog."
Both Leo and Grey started growling at each other, so I quickly went between them. "Boys! Calm down. I'm just glad we're all okay."
I replayed all the events that had happened in the last few hours.
"Marcie's sword! That's where you went. I thought my mom found you and took you away."
Dog boy stared at me. "Are you talking to the sword?"
"Yea. A ghost girl gave it top me before she left to....wherever ghosts go when they leave our world."
He scowled. "I'm about to die, and the girl I have to die with is crazy."
I glared at him. "I'm not crazy, and is that any way to talk to your savior?"
He chuckled then winced at the movement. "Sure, whatever you say. You're an amateur, and I think I've lived a nice life. Killed a few people, bought a motorcycle, and I joined an awesome gang for some time. My life is complete."
I shut out his negativity, and concentrated on the enemy. There's probably a few hundred....okay maybe a thousand trolls, we're completely surrounded, and I have absolutely no fighting experience at all. Yep, the odds are against us.
I shook my head. I have to be positive. I know! I'll just try to mimic a fighting movie or something, and see if that works. Umm.....Star Wars.....I should really watch more fighting based movies.
"Alright. Here I go!" I imagined the Star Wars theme song playing in my head to help me felt he part. "May the force be with me."
Dog boy gave me an odd look. "What are you babbling about, you crazy priestess?"
I held my sword in both hands as they do in Star Wars, and sliced down at the closest troll with all my power....and nothing happened. I just hit the troll in the head, and it looks like I made him mad.
Dog boy burst out laughing at my attempt. "Is that the best you can do? This is hopeless, and we're going to die."
"Sh...shut up! I've never used a sword before!"
He stopped laughing. "This really is hopeless."
So obviously Star Wars isn't going to work for me, but what else can I use as a guide......Orion! I've seen Orion fight before, and that was real. I've also seen Leo fight with his claws. I recalled the time that Marcie had almost sliced me to pieces with her hair, and Leo used his cat claws to protect me.
I closed my eyes, and slowly breathed in and out. "I can do this."
I decided to mimic the battle of Orion vs. the spider demon. I copied his stance, and the way he had held his own sword. I chose to mimic the move where Orion side slashed the spider demon, and to my surprise it worked.
I smiled as I took out one of the trolls. "I did it!"
Dog boy feigned a smile. "Good job. You killed one out of probably a thousand."
I sighed. "You don't have to be so sarcastic."
I then mimicked the side slash that I'd seen Orion do to the spider. To my surprise, I took out about five with that one slash.
Dog boy started to clap. "Yea. This should only take about five more years."
I ignored him, and continued to slay the trolls, but after I killed about one hundred I was exhausted. "There's so many."
I collapsed to my knees, and sadly looked on at the hundreds of trolls. Just as I was about to lose hope, the ground started to shake, and above us a hole opened up. Leo and Orion jumped down, and they both turned toward me.
Leo looked concerned. "Sorry it took so long. There were a whole bunch of trolls attacking us in the forest. You okay?"
I smiled in relief. "Yea. I'm fine."
Orion also looked concerned for once. "How are you still alive?"
I showed them Marcie's sword. "It was in me the whole time, and it came out when I needed it to."
Orion looked surprised. "You actually defeated some of these trolls?"
"Bout a hundred."
Leo smiled. "You go girl!"
Orion also gave me a small smile. "Don't worry I'll make it top priority to train you after we get out of this."
I nodded. "That's probably for the best."
Orion and Leo slayed all the trolls in about half an hour, and that brings us back to now.
Orion glared at Grey. "So what are we going to do with him?"
I looked at Grey. "Want to join our little team?"
Grey smiled. "Hell no." He stood up, and turned back towards the woods. "Nice meeting you and everything, but I really have to go."
I smiled, and looked at the boys. "He seemed nice. Too bad he doesn't want to hang with us."
Orion suddenly glared at me. "Didn't we tell you to stay put?"
I gulped. "I'm sorry."
Sorry it took so long to post this chapter. I've been super busy with school, and it's not easy for me to get computer access right now. Also, I hope Grey is depicted as a bad boy as I was trying to accomplish. I hope this chapter is alright with you guys, and I'm going to try to start posting a chapter weekly, though I can't make any promises.
