Chapter Twenty-Five

By the time Jared, the kids, and you arrived back at his place, the kids were antsy to get out of the car and a slight drizzle was forming outside. Jared got out of the car and told you to wait for his text so you could come inside to surprise everyone before he got all the kids out of the car, both of you making sure they understood that it was supposed to be a surprise.

You watched them all go into the house, seeing JJ comment on the rain that was starting to fall. Your eyes moved away from them and to the sky, it was growing darker which made you quite nervous; you were not one for being outside during a storm. It just was not your thing.

You waited for five minutes, which turned into ten, and soon became fifteen. You yourself began to grow antsy, your legs tingling because they had started to fall asleep. You sigh and begin to bounce then while awkwardly tapping your thighs, your eyes daring the phone to light up with a confirmation text from Jared.

"If I wanted to sit like this for this long, I would've stayed on the damn plane and flew somewhere else." You comment just as your phone finally lit up with a text...but not the text you were expecting from Jared.

I'd get out of the car before Jensen gets there, Austin let it slip -Jared

Your eyes widen as you quickly slip the phone back into your pocket while fumbling with the seatbelt, your eyes now watching the front door; seeing comotion from behind it. Finally, you get the damn thing off and climb out of the car, just as the front door opens.

Rain pours down, instantly soaking you to the core but you don't seem to notice. Your E/C eyes just stare back at the candy-apple green ones that stared you down in shock but the smile on his face showed you that he was happy you were here so your worries faded almost instantly.

You bring up your hand and offer a small wave while sliding your now heavy/soaked coat off your shoulders, Jensen swallows the lump in his throat before literally sprinting from the front deck to your side.

Quickly and without a word, he scoops you off your feet and brings his lips to your own. Your legs automatically wrapping around his torso. You smile into the kiss while running your fingers through his hair, oh how you missed doing that.

When you both pull away due to the need of oxygen growing to great, you both just stand there staring at each other. Not believing that this could be true at all, Jensen slowly leans you against Jared's car as one hand goes to your stomach. Still neither of you noticing the rain.

"I'm sorry." Jensen whispers. "God, I was such a dick and I don't know how I deserve a girl like you. Please forgive me and let's start back when you first told me, I missed you so much these past few months and I can't handle you being gone much longer. Let alone all the glares I get from JJ."

"I'm sorry too." You chuckle. "And I hope she wasn't too hard on you."

"She wouldn't speak to me." Jensen sheepishly admits. "Until I called you."

"Why didn't you?" You question, your grip slightly tightening on his jacket out of fear.

"Because I was scared, I thought you moved on and that you didn't want me anymore. Just because of the way I acted." Jensen shrugs. "But I hope you coming here means that....just maybe a little part of you forgives me."

"No Jensen, I'm just here for the damn pie." You sarcastically reply. "I flew almost six hours for a damn pie."

"Really?" Jensen demands, his face slightly falling.

"No you doof, I came for you." You laugh at how gullable the man was. "I love you."

"I love you too." Jensen smiles before pulling your lips to his again.

"Hey! Love birds!" Jared yells from the door, pulling you both apart. "We don't want you getting sick, get inside!"

You and Jensen finally realize how soaked you two really were, you both burst into a fit of laughter as you jump from Jensen's arms. He grabs your coat that was still on the driveway, but seemed to collect water on top of it, before grabbing your hand and leading you inside where everyone else greeted you and welcomed you home.

Gen let you borrow some of her clothes while Jensen changed into ones that he had brought before you joined in on the family game night, later that night when you, JJ, and Jensen went home the car was silent but a peaceful silence.

After you had tucked in JJ and walked back to your shared room, quickly changing into one of Jensen's t-shirts and laying down next to him in your old shared bed.

"You know, my question still stands." Jensen comments.

"What question." You yawn.

"I want you to marry me, I love you. I see the way you are with JJ and I want that every day. I couldn't live without you for two months, let alone ever. So please, will you marry me?"

"Yes."
