I was walking around park for about ten miniutes and I couldn't resist the urge to play with the dogs. I know of course I was supposed to only take them out for a walk, for them to do what's needed but I just couldn't help it. I reached a rather big field of plain grass, and looked around. It was almost empty. There was this one guy, sitting criss cross on the grass, drawing something on his sketchbook. For a brief moment he lifted his head up and glanced over me. His black long shoulder length hair falling in his eyes. He swept them away and slowly looked back down his sketchbook.
I couldn't get a good look at his face, as he was at the other end of the field, but he looked quite amazing from afar.I fumbled in my backpack and grabbed a small toy ball. I unleashed the dogs and then threw the ball away. They all started running towards her, coming closer to that guy from before. I started running to him so I could prevent the dogs from falling on him. It was too late. The ball fell right between his legs and so did the dogs. A look of pure terror flashed through his eyes as the dogs appeared from no where but then he calmed down.
I reached him and while panting and holding my knees I tried to talk. "Sorry man, I didn't mean to get the dogs over at you." There was a small moment of silence so I looked up and saw his face from close up. I was right. He was really good looking. His hazel eyes were piercing right through my soul and his thin and slimey looking lips had parted slightly, as if he was trying to find the right words to say. "It is okay..I guess" Max had grabbed the ball from between his legs and was now running away, as Becky and Leia were running behind him. They were having a great time.
"So. . . What's your name?" I tried to make a conversation. "I'm Gerard." He said hardly without stumbling on his words. He was very shy. "You have a nice name." I exclaimed."My name is Frank, nice to meet you." "Yea. . Me too."He said this time stumbling on his words. He was cute when he did that. My lips curved in a small smile and I sat down next to him. He was startled when I did that and instantly moved his body away from mine. That was really fast I thought to myself. "Hey it's okay." I tried to ease things. "Ehh. . Yea I just. . sorry." He said quickly and then looked back at his sketchbook. I really wanted to talk with him but it didn't seem like the feeling was mutual.
I tried to peek on his sketchbook. It was a rather old sketchbook, with each and every page of it torn out and then simply placed back in it. Before I could see whathe was drawing, he slammed it close, still staring at it. He slowly stood up on his legs and cleared his throat. "I think, I need to go." "Hey. I didn't mean to intrude. I'm sorry will you please stay a little longer?" I was surprised by my own self. Why did I ask him that. It sounded pathetic and clingy. He looked back at me in disbelief. He stood there for a miniute, contemplating whether he should stay or go. He then shook his head slowly and said "Sorry I really have to go." He then walked away fastly and disappeared in the small trees there were close here. That was truly uneventful. As I stood up I noticed a page from that sketchbook had fallen on the ground and been left unnoticed by him.
I picked the page up and looked at the drawing on it. It was this exact same sight I was having from the spot I was standing. The park drawn in black and white. It looked so sickeningly calm. It looked suspiciously calm. I stared at it for a moment and then folded it and put it in my back pack. I then whistled to get the dogs' attention and they run back at me. I put their leashes on and started walking back to the store. This meant something. He meant something. I was sure I was going to have him mine. Either the easy, or the hard way. And that was a promise.
