Gerard was prepared to listen to Frank's story. He was curious to know what drove the captor into being such a dangerous and psychotic person. Gerard curled up and held his legs tight while having his eyes locked on Frank's dark presence in the room. The dark presence was standing still, looking down on the tips of his shoes. Slowly, he put his hand in the pocket of his torn out jeans and moved it around while fumbling for something. Panic flashed through Frank's eyes when he didn't find his cigarettes in his right pocket but he immediately calmed down when he touched his backpocket. The cigarettes had been misplaced there.
Mechanically, Frank's hand pulled the packet and took it close to the mouth where he grabbed one cigarette with his teeth. With slow and steady steps the captor moved over to the darkest corner of the dimly lit room. The lighter lit the cigarette in an instance and Frank sat down on the dirty floor. He sucked on the cigarette butt hard and held the smoke insided his lungs with the secret hope he would choke on it and die. Frank always hoped for that on the back of his head. Then the smoke came out of his mouth and nose dramatically.
"I guess I will tell my story first." Said the short man and inhaled another deep and long drag of the poisonous stick. "It happened some years before. When I was around fifteen I met a guy. That guy was the first person that stuck with me without me trying at all. He always was around through thick and thin. And I used to have lots of fun with that guy. We used to smoke on his basement while listening to his music. Those were the days when he was a trully good person. I remember he had this dog that was really huge and always came running to me whenever I entered his house." The man paused his speech for a moment and inhaled some more of his cigarette. Then he put his remaining hand in his hair and grabbed on it while finally turning his eyes over at the victim.
A deep breath came out of his mouth. "Then.. he suddenly changed. He became a totally different person." Frank wanted to stop. He didnt want to continue the story. His heart was racing and his chest was rising and falling in a speed that was abnormal for his state. The pause of the story started to make the curiosity of the victim grow immensly. He nodded his head in a reassuring way to the captor so that he'd be encouraged. "His parents died on a car crash. He was left all alone." Tears started to brim on his eyelids. A figure appeared on the corner of the captor's eyes. A bloody body filled with stab wounds and throat cut open. It started crawling closer to him and it moaned incomprehensible words.
Frank's frightened eyes let the tears fall down his cheeks like waterfalls and his voice, shaky as ever, spoke up again. "His personallity got twisted and he became a horrible person. He started to hit me every day at school. He threatened me into going to his house daily telling me that if I didn't do as he said he would kill me." His whole body was now shaking and he was crying. The body had crawled all the way to his feet and was ready to grip them. "Frank come here" Gerard's voice brightened up the captor. His arms were open and invited him into a hug. The body started to disappear and become ashes. The short man crawled into Gerard's arms where he rested for some miniutes while trying to calm down and stop the tears from running off his eyes.
When the man was finally done with crying and all calmed down he procceded to continue the storytelling. "Every time I went over to his house he would rape me and hit me more. I had nowhere to rely on and nobody could help me. My parents had left this world from when I was eight and the only person that would be able to help was the one abusing me. One day I went over to his house he hit me that hard that I blacked out completely but when I woke up I was found with a shocking scenery. The monster had been killed. He had his throat sliced open and his body was full of stab wounds. I couldn't believe in my own eyes. Someone had taken care of him and I was finally free. A huge weight was removed from my shoulders."
The victim was confused as ever but he was totally stunned with the story and his ears belonged to the narator and only. "At that moment I knew I had to take care of all the evidence of the event otherwise I would be the one that everyone would blame for the monster's death. So I got rid of the body and all of the blood and never talked about it with anyone. You are the very first person to know about it. And that's it." Gerard was still very confused as to how he was never investigated by the police but didnt talk about his thoughts.
The only thing Gerard did was hug Frank real tight once more. "It's going to be okay. You did nothing wrong" he whispered into his ear. Frank felt relief throughout his whole body when those words were processed by the brain. He touched the victim's forehead with his own and looked deeply into the small orbs of the older boy. "I am really glad you don't think of me as a monster for my actions." The victim looked in his eyes as well. His heart was warm and he had weird feelings towards his captor now. He couldn't accept them for what they were. He masked his new born love for the captor as sympathy for a person that had to go through such a hard phase. "Don't worry. I don't think of you as a monster at all." Gerard said. He meant it. He had even forgiven Frank for what he had done to him earlier.
Frank's eyes shined wholeheartedly and his heart was healed from the sorrow it was in some moments before. He then closed the gap between their faces with a small and sweet kiss. This time Gerard consented to it. He was happy to kiss Frank.
After some seconds the captor broke the kiss and smiled again. "I am really happy you dont think of me as a monster." he mouthed. His hand moved over at the back of his pants and took out the cigarette packet. He left it in front of the victim and placed a box of matches next to it. "I know you smoke. I want you to be happy" He said with a pure expression plastered on his face. Then he stood up and walked over to the door. "I will see you soon." were his word before leaving the room. Gerard was left alone. In a swift motion he placed a cigarette on his mouth and using the matches lit it up. He needed it. Time flew by and the cigarette packet was now empty. He calmly put his head against the wall. "He's not the monster I thought he was." He murmured.
Little did he know Frank was much more of a monster than he could ever imagine.
So. I am really sorry for this late update. I was on a hiatus and I sincerely apologize for not saying so. The story has finally reached its half and it's not as simple as it seems. I will try to find a way to explain the actual events on the upcoming chapters. Thank you for standing by and supporting the story so far.
