Amelia unlocked her front door and was met by a barking Charlie. As she bent down to pet him, she heard a conversation going in in her kitchen, and as she slowly made her way to the kitchen she listened intently.

Chuck noticed Andrew staring at a picture of his wife, and with a smile said, "Yes, my wife was quite a looker. Amelia has the same eyes as she did. I fell in love with Crystal for her eyes, because as you see, eyes don't change. If you can fall in love with the beauty of the eye, you'll be in love forever. I would do anything to be able to see her emeralds one last time. It's worth it, though, because every time I see Amelia, I see Crystal, and I remember one beauty was sacrificed for another. I can never get tired of those emerald eyes, I once even got a detention in school for paying more attention to her than history. Ah, well, I'm sorry for droning on about her, it's just been a long time since I've had the opportunity to speak of her to someone."

"It's more than okay, trust me. It's interesting to hear. If you don't mind me asking, though, why can't you see her eyes anymore? She's your wife, I don't understand," The voice apprehensively asked, and as he spoke, Amelia realized it was the boy from study hall, Andrew.
Amelia watched Chuck take a seat before answering with a sad smile, "I know she's in Heaven now. She's too pure not to be. God, I loved her as much as I possibly could, and I know that what we had was so real. She was just too pure for this Earth, I guess. She gave me a blessing before she went, though. She gave me Amelia. Everytime I look into her eyes I see Crystal, and that is enough for me. I miss Crystal more and more everyday, but I carry on Andrew. I carry on."

During the last sentences, Amelia burst out in a fit of tears as she ran up the stairs to her bedroom. This made Charlie go crazy, drawing more attention to the scene. Chuck had no clue Amelia was home, and he looked at Andrew with fear in his eyes. Andrew looked in the direction of the staircase and decided to follow the path to her room, a decision that made all the difference in both of their futures.
