Look after you ~ The Fray

Drop. Drop. Drop.

The sky cried dense droplets of crystal clear water as Zayn Malik sat on the soggy wet grass of Willow Park holding a large jet black umbrella over his head.

Zayn observed as the drops of rain feverishly created hundreds of little splashes as they landed into the pond. It was 5:30 p.m and Azalea's chocolate curls and emerald eyes were no where to be seen.

In fact, Willow Park was completely empty. The only other presence was of the occasional cars that swooned by. Zayn huffed as he realized she wasn't going to come. Of course she wasn't. No one in their sane mind would spend time outside while it's pouring. Except for a certain Bradford boy that was falling for a girl named after a flower.

Zayn thought about calling or texting her just to check up, but he groaned when he remembered he didn't have her number. His mind couldn't let him just leave. He needed to talk to her. Make sure she was okay. Listen to that beautiful laugh again.

Frustrated and upset, Zayn Malik stood up from the slippy grass of Willow Park and walked towards his car with a very wet butt. The engine roared to life and he left Willow Park to go home.

As he drove through a neighborhood, soft but vivid
pink and white colors caught his eye. Zayn came to a halt as he stared out the window at a little house with peeled white paint and worn out edges. A vast garden crammed with plants adorned it. He recognized the flower. Delicate, brightly pigmented and small.

Zayn didn't care his car was in the middle of the road and immediately got out, running towards the garden. He took out his apple red pocket knife and cut off the beautiful flower by its stem from the garden, mentally apologizing to the house keeper.

He rushed back into his car shutting the door. He set the flower carefully on the passenger seat, glancing at it. He smiled when he remembered glowing brown skin and rosy pink lips.

Zayn turned on his GPS and followed Siri's instructions to a certain beautiful girl's home. His eyes skimmed through the houses finding the one with the big brown door and peanut butter exteriort. He immediately pulled over, shutting the door behind him as he got off. With a small flower in hand, he skipped up the steps of the house with drenched clothes and soggy black hair.

Zayn thought it would be more romantic to leave his gift at the edge of her window, but of course Zayn didn't know which one was her window. All the curtains were shut and he couldn't stand in the rain much longer or he'd get pnemunia. His mom's wise words.

The beautiful girl with eyes like the thick trees of the forest and hair that cascaded down her shoulders, sat on the creamy carpet of her window sill, petting Bear's soft silky hair when she heard a knock. And then another. And then the doorbell. Bear's ears perked up at the sound and immediately stood in a protective manner in front of the girl.

Curious as to who it was since Dominic's friends usually just stormed through the doors, she stood up and headed down stairs, the wood creaking and croaking, with Bear protectively in front of her.

She reached the door that screeched just slightly when she opened it. There was no one there. Just raindrops falling from the roof. Bear, however, was sniffing something on the ground.

The girl hunched down and retrieved a piece of damp white paper, probably due to the rain. A smile drew on her face as she read the scribbly words on the crinkled note.

Missed you at the park, Beautiful Flower :) x

And her shattered heart shook and melted all at the same time as she picked up the delicate flower from the ground.

An Azalea.
