Chapter 4 "Let's Play A Game!"

Zach's POV

Minutes had passed and boredom was near. Kate and I was currently walking down the hall I was going down earlier. Why would Jane mark her? Then again why wouldn't she, the bastard can't even handle a bee sting. I turned my head to see a stormed little Katelyn. "Did you even hear a word I said?"

Do you think I have time for you?, "Sorry I wasn't paying attention, what you said?" She rolled her blue eyes possibly to the top of her big head. I once again allowed myself to get lost in thought until I finally heard something interesting. "So your basically a cop?"

"Um...maybe?" I gave her a hard stare knowing that she was lying. "Ughh finee I'm not" she whined.

"And how did a little girl, such as yourself, managed to get so much info on a missing person? Not to mention two missing people if I stand corrected" She stopped walking for a brief minute before beginning to explain.

"I...I got it from my-"

"Father?" Both of our heads snapped to the source of the unknown voice. Our eyes met with a young boy. Just by looking at his scarred face and navy green eyes tell me that trouble and annoyance lurks besides him.

"And who the hell are you?" I asked taking a step closer to his small figure. He looked anything but human with those stitches so I'm guessing he's with the lost.

"I'm guessing you think I'm a threat hmm? Well no biggie, my name is Pheros and I mean you no harm"

Something about this kid seems...off. "Nice to meet you Pheros!" Kate announced, "If you don't mind me asking how do you know my dad?"

Pheros chuckled before pointing to a door to our right. "I'll tell you once we get out of this dreaded place ,so if you must,  please-"

"You know a way out?"  I swear this girl needs to learn how to shut up sometimes. I felt Pheros brush past me as he smiled. Yeah something's definitely wrong.

When he walked into the room leaving us there, I looked back at Kate whose face was dosed with worry. I can understand why but she has to move on with her life and stop worrying for her friend. "Come on let's go check it out" she spoke giving me a soft and fragile smile as she walked into the room. Her face shows weakness but her abilities are different...'I am so sorry!" A cheeky little smirk came across her face when she realised who it was. I groaned and got up before saying "Thanks for the help...and flipping me', "Ugh a guy let's his guard down for one second and gets attacked by a girl how nice" I muttered to myself before entering the room. Correction before taking one step in the room.

Katelyn's POV

"Wha- why" I meekly cried out on the floor as I saw Zach walked through the door and instantly freezing. The room's dreaded curse didn't seem to harm his as much as it did with me, but Zach was still turning pale. Instantly, I noticed that he was on the floor with a knife shooting out his left shoulder.
'Pheros... He planed everything before hand... But what does he want with-' my thoughts were interrupted by my very own screams as an entire wave of pain circulated my dorsal side, the back of my hand. Regretting to turn my head to the source I saw him carving an x at my hand.

"Sorry I had to let you guys see this but I'm bored, so can you really blame me?" He wore a bored yet interesting expression on his face when he dropped one of Zach's knives on the floor before speaking again "Now that you each have a source of pain we can finally begin!" And with that, fear made its way in my soul thinking what was his type of fun.
