I Will Protect My Mate

Hiro's POV

I looked up at my Father who was in the doorway. "What?" He nodded. "He called and gave me instructions. He also wanted me to tell you he loves you." I grimaced, remembering my terrible rejection of my mate, that sent him into thoughts and actions of suicide. I hated myself for pushing him like that. "I'm going to go find him." Father blocked the door. "No. He told me not to let you do that." I growled at him. "I don't care. I know he doesn't want to be with that wolf who took him, and I'm not going to sit here and wait." Father sighed. "I'm not asking you to do that. I'm asking you to travel with me to as many packs as we can over the course of three days. We will make as many alliances as possible and we will get back your mate." I smiled. "I like the part where I get my mate back, but I hate the part about waiting." Father chuckled. "I understand, but come with me to these packs and you will have your mate back soon." I nodded, giving in. Father smiled and we left immediately.

One the first day we visited six packs, and gained five alliances, but none of the packs were very strong. The first pack excepted the moment we proposed the idea, and the second followed suit. The third was harder, wanting to know what they could gain from the alliance. Once we said that we had the Black Wolf, they accepted. The fourth pack did not accept our offer. They didn't believe the Black Wolf had come and they didn't want bloodshed, but didn't want to get involved either. The fifth and sixth didn't need much persuasion.

We slept at the sixth pack's place and got up early. I wanted my mate back, and I wanted him now. My dreams were filled with Yuki's sweet voice and body. They always seemed to end in him being ripped away from me, but some had happy endings. I wanted Yuki to be back with me and I'm going to mate him no matter what. I don't care if he loses his powers. I don't think he cares either. My dear Yuki would be in my arms soon enough. I just had two more days. Two more days.
