Chapter 9, Family?

     "I never knew someone's power could be in the 500's!" Dasha whispered excitedly.

     "Luna's power is 511," Scalinea whispered back as she stood up on the branch.

     "WHAT!" Dasha said almost not in a whisper and Scalinea took the time Dasha was distracted by jumping down into the bushes out of sight.

     Scalinea followed the male winding through the trees. It was easy to tell that he was wondering why he rarely ran into any monsters. And when he did he struggled with battling the monsters.  'Must be in a bad mood.' Scalinea thought.

     After a while of watching him, Scalinea turned back to normal. Long brown hair, turquoise eyes, a pink shirt that went just past her elbows, light blue shorts, light brown heels, and her black ears and tail seemed to have more volume to the soft fur.

     "Hello, Carson Legend," Scalinea said emerging from her hiding place with her regular sweet tone back in her voice.

     "Who are you? How do you know me? Why are you here?" Carson asked panicked.

     "Don't ask too many questions at once." Scalinea laughed. "I'm Scalinea Diamond, I'm sure Brian must have told you about my brother and I."

     "You-you know my father?"

     "I'm his half-sister by magic."

     "By magic?"

     "Yup!"

     "But you're so much younger?"

     "Siblings by MAGIC." She pointed out.

     "I guess that makes sense."

     Scalinea laughed at his reply. She flicked her wrist and her broadsword appeared in her hand as she spun around and slain a monster that was about to charge her and Carson.

     Carson's jaw dropped at how calmly and simply Scalinea had slain the monster. "How did you neatly portray that monster with one slash of your sword?!"

     "Ya, I know I'm cool." Scalinea laughed and staggered to the side almost losing her balance.

     "Did my father even teach you?!" Carson laughed.

     "I've surpassed anything he could still teach me." Scalinea laughed. "I just tend to use to much magic to the point that I'm unstable."

     "How have you surpassed him, though? And how so early and at a young age?"

     "Well for starters I was born a higher level than he is even now..."

     "WHAT!?!" Carson's voice echoed through the forest.

     Scalinea laughed. "At the moment my magic is level 18,968."

     Carson stood dull then punched her in the face.
