Chapter Four

-Alice’s POV-

I stepped away from Jessica as her body hit the floor. “Oops?”, I said. Behind me, I heard everyone cheer.

“Alice?! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! YOU GOT IN A FIGHT WITH HER!," Alex stepped forward and screamed at me. In front of the whole school.

“YOU WANT TO KNOW THE WHOLE REASON WHY, ALEX?! WATCH MCKENZIE’S VIDEO, ASK MY FRIEND LENA! HELL, ASK THE ENTIRE SCHOOL! ASK THEM THE WHOLE STORY BEHIND JESSICA AND I! NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY ALL HATE ME! I DIDN’T TELL YOU EVERYTHING! WHAT I TOLD YOU ISN’T EVEN NEAR WHAT I WANTED TO TELL YOU!,” I shouted at Alex as the whole school watched another scene unfold. “If anything Alex, this is all your fault. I didn’t have to move across the f*cking country, but I did because that’s what you wanted. Because of that, this happened. It’s your fault. It always is,” I whispered so only Alex can hear me.

I looked up at Alex, who had tears running down his face. Just like me. “Alice, I-,” he started.

“Don’t Alex. Okay? Just don’t,” and with that I ran out the cafeteria doors and out to my car. On the way there, I bumped into Austin, my aunt and uncle, and two other boys.

Austin stopped me. He grabbed my shoulders and held me away at arms-length. “Hey. Hey Alice. Are you okay? And why are you bleeding and looking like you got beat up?,” he asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine Austin. I just fought this b*tch. And no, not really. Alex and I just got in this major argument after I won the fight,” I said. Austin reached his hand up and wiped away tears I didn’t know were there.

“It’s okay, Alice. You guys will get past this,” he reassured me.

“I doubt it. This happens all the time. And after today, he’s leaving,” I changed the subject. “But don’t worry about me. Who are these guys?”

“This is Zach,” Austin pointed to a blond with his hair in a quiff. “And this is Robert,” he pointed to the other guy with buzz cut hair.

“Hi. It’s nice to meet you both. Sorry you had to meet me looking like, um, this…,” my voice trailed off. I held out my hand for them to shake.

“Alice Rian! Who did you fight?” my uncle asked me.

“Jessica Anderson,” I proudly said.

“Oh. Okay. You aren’t in trouble. She probably deserved it,” my aunt said.

“Oh, she did trust me,” I said.

“Alice!,” I heard Alex shout my name behind me.

“Go away, Alex. I don’t want to talk to you,” I said, stepping behind Austin and standing next to Zach and Robert.

“Fine,” he huffed. “At least go down to the nurse’s office and then to the actual office. We’ll meet you there.”

“Okay. See you soon,” I walked away from the group and back into school where everyone clapped. I just laughed. The second I walked into the nurse’s office, I turned around. “Ha. Nope, I’m out.”

“Miss Constancio, come back here please. We need to get you cleaned up,” the school nurse said.

“Do I have to?,” I whined.

“Yes. Now please come here,” the nurse said. I feel so bad! I don’t even know her name.

After five minutes, she was done. “Alright, Miss Constancio and Miss Anderson, I wiped off both of your makeup and cleaned off the blood from you. You may leave.”
