Chapter Five
“I’m what?!,” I shouted at my family. “I can’t! There’s school a-and my friends! I can’t leave them,”
“Alice…,” Alex started to say.
I cut him off. “Don’t even say anything, Alex. You probably planned this. Huh? Knowing you, you most likely did. Don’t you get it? I don’t want to go. I’m perfectly fine here in L.A. I don’t want to go on tour with you, Austin, Robert, Zach, anyone else. I want to stay here. You can’t make me leave. Stop trying to control my life, okay?! You haven’t even been here a full day, and look what happened. You caused even more drama for me! And then, when you leave, without me by the way, nothing is going to be the same as it was yesterday. Good going, Alex. You messed up my life once again!,” I was pacing around the kitchen, pointing fingers to Alex.
“Okay! So I can’t do anything for my twin sister,” Alex emphasized “twin sister”. “And I can’t do anything nice for her?! You want to stay here in L.A., where you get bullied?! Going on tour would be better for you! Don’t you get it, Alice? I am trying to get my little sister back. I am trying to recover lost time!,” Alex exclaimed.
“Lost time? You mean, the time between those years when I lived here? All the time? Alex, I doubt that you make up 7 years of “lost time”, I crossed my arms. “I don’t care if you’re my older, twin brother. I do not want to travel with you guys. I’m not dropping out of school and leaving my friends. I am not going to go on tour with you guys. I’m just going to get more hate. A girl traveling with a bunch of guys. Isn’t that just a tad bit suspicious?”
“We have tutors! Other people come on tour with us! You are not going to be the only girl on tour! And no! I don’t think that it’s a “tad bit suspicious” at all. We had friends who were girls join us all the time when we flew out of state. Alice, you were always talking about how you wanted to travel the world when we were younger. Now is your chance!,” I thought about it for a little. “You can get away from Jessica and her little friends. If you need girl time, you can just fly out McKenzie, or Lena, or- I don’t know! C’mon, Alice! I haven’t seen you in forever! It’s senior year! You should give yourself a break from all the hard work! Loosen up a little. Please?! I need you. No. I want you to come on tour with us! Please?,” Alex was begging me.
“Alex,” I sighed, “I’ll think about it. Okay?” Alex jumped up and fist-pumped the air. “It’s not a definite yes, but it’s a maybe.”
“YES!,” Alex cheered.
I laughed. “Okay, okay. I’m going to go get ready for the concert. Peace out, girl scout!,” I threw a peace sign to my aunt and uncle and Alex.
“Not so fast, Little Miss Troublemaker! Get down here,” my uncle called out. I slowly turned around and pouted. “No, none of that. You’re in trouble. What were you thinking?! Beating her up? Really, Alice? I know that she’s rude to you, but you didn’t have to take things that far,” my aunt said.
“No! You guys don’t get it! She st-,” I was saying until Alex interrupted me.
“She started it first. Jessica was yelling and shouting things at Alice. Guys, the second that Ali and I walked into the school, Jessica came up and told Alice to kill herself! Then she called her a wh*re, and was about to slap her until I stopped her. Then she laid eyes on me and started to act, like, all innocent and stuff,” Alex explained to the two adults sitting on the couch.
“Is this really what happened?,” my aunt asked.
“Yes!,” Alex and I said at the same time.
“Okay. Well, Alice, you’ve been suspended for three days,” my aunt said.
“What about Jessica?,” Alex asked.
