poetic united nations

it was just an old building

full of broken furniture

cobwebs

and dust

window broken

doors off hinges

and walls full of holes

the basement was kinda creepy

the boiler squealed

and was

full of rust

pipes leaking

furnace broken

it was so cold

but i saw potential

i saw the vision

as clear

as glass

bar along one wall

reclaimed tables and chairs

huge fireplace

comfy sofas  and armchairs

pictures on the wall

poets, present

and past

a small stage

to share your thoughts

warm inviting space

a thousand voices

all speaking as one

no prejudice

no egos

no discrimination

a common love

of the written word

a lyrical

poetic

united nations

i may not give guidance

or inspiration

but i give you my heart

my soul

my most beloved creation
