fooled you

i had a dream last night

that the doors to 

heaven closed

angels stood guard

turning people away

saying

"there are no more righteous

no more room"

"then, what was it all for?"

one man yelled

"i gave my life to you,"

a woman screamed at the gate

there was no answer

no reply

no confirmation

no reasons why

just angels

guarding

a closed gate

finally the people scattered

across the vast

empty

nothing

soon

only the angels remained

guarding the closed gate

one by one

they too

disappeared

darkness fell

and eternal darkness

a neon sign

came to life on the closed gate
