Crazy how quickly we learn new things. In the blink of an eye you won't be able to see the world the way you saw it before.
I remember when I was younger and I always felt so lonely being the only child. Never had any friends growing up due solely to the fact I was so used to being alone. My mother was a crack head and my father died when I was 5. Got taken in by my grandmother, the first woman I ever loved. She's my role model now and forever. She taught me how to be a man. I don't mean it in a stereotypical open the door for your lady way. I mean it in a stay aware and fight for what you want no matter what it is and what circumstance comes with it but don't be stupid and ignorant about it, way.
Anyways, I always wanted a sibling to play with as I grew up. But I figured out that I had to wait until I turned 20 to figure out that I'm not alone.
Today is the day that I'll go meet her at my grandfathers house. She's 17 years old and loves flowers. That's all I know about her right now. We've talked over the phone a few times and to say I'm curious about meeting her is an understatement.

Today I'm meeting my brother. Crazy because I never thought I would be saying this ever in my life. I've always been the only child. Curious as to why I never heard of him before but there's no time to think about the negative.
I cleaned up because my grandfather always says that the way someone takes care of their home says a lot about them. He might be my brother but he's still a stranger to my home and I don't need him thinking anything bad about me on the first encounter.
Now I'm laying in my bed just waiting on his arrival. Then I started thinking about the green eyed goddess I saw once and wondered if she still lived in the same house.
I decided that I'll go over and see what's up because I was so curious as to why she never showed up again.
I grabbed my phone and walked over there. I knocked on the door expecting someone to open it but instead the door opened up while I knocked on it. I walked in and heard screams and crying from upstairs. I'm no hero but I hate violence so I decided to put on that imaginary cape and walked upstairs.
I was greeted by a fist coming towards my face when I walked in but I quickly dodged it and the man went flying out the door. I saw a woman half beaten to death and the green eyed goddess damn near the same condition.
I rushed over to save them from this horrid scene and called the police.
I reached out to the younger girl but as soon as I touched her arm she flinched just like she did with the flower.
"It's okay baby I'm not here to hurt you I'm just trying to help you. Come on you're coming with me to my house." I said while tears were threatening to fall from my eyes.
She reached her arms out like a baby and I carried her like one out the door. Her tight grip on me was hurting me also but I wasn't focused on that.
The police came busting through the door with the ambulance and carried the woman outside to safety. One of the policemen saw the hold that the girl had on me and decided that it was best I came with them to the hospital.
With my tears and her blood mixed together we never let go of each other.
In the midst of it all I got a phone call from my brother. I totally forgot about our meeting so I answered to explain myself.
"Hello?"
"Yeah where are you? I'm here."
"Can you just come to the hospital? Something happened and I'm a little tied up at the moment."
"What? Hospital? Why? Are you okay? You know what never mind I'm on my way."
"Alright I'll see you there." With that I hung up and centered my attention back toward the green eyed goddess that still hasn't let go of me nor stopped crying.
"Baby open your eyes."
"No. I don't want to see him anymore."
"He's not here anymore. You're safe now with me. Open your eyes for me."
Those beautiful green eyes I remembered from my garden were in my presence and I was blessed to be here again.
"There they are. Do you remember me?" She tried to speak but I noticed the black and purple ring around her neck that was holding her back from speaking.
"If you don't wanna speak that's fine just nod for me okay?" She nodded her head yes.
"That lady that I'm assuming is your mother is in good hands okay? Just pray for her well being." She nodded her head yes again.
"We're on our way to the hospital right now. You'll get to see your mother later. For right now just lay your head down on my shoulder and try to relax. Think positive."
