Calum's POV [that's new, huh]
"You kissed her?!" Luke exclaims.
"I-I panicked. We were hugging and I thought we were having a moment." I stutter.
"You're supposed to be helping her get Michael back!" Ashton snaps.
"So what? If Michael is available then he can have me." Luke smirks.
"Luke!" Ashton and I shout in unison.
Yesterday, after our trip to the grocery store and the whole thing with the oranges, we just kind of laughed. Yep. That's it. We laughed for a little while and then stared into each other's eyes for ten minutes. Laughed some more, smiled at each other and then I made my move.
It's not like she didn't want it! She kissed back too! So, it's not entirely my fault she won't talk to anyone. Ehh. Actually, now that I think about it, it kind of is my fault. After the kiss, the car ride home was extremely awkward and when we got home, she ran up to her room and hasn't come down since.
"Calum, I don't know what happened between you and my sister but, you seriously need to fix it. She loves Michael so much. Don't you want her to be happy?"
"I mean," I scratch the back of my neck, "of course I do. It's just, why can't she be happy with me?"
"Calum, stop being so god damn selfish. This isn't about you. This is about Michael and Liliana." Ashton yells.
"And you tell me to get over Michael." Luke mumbles.
"Luke, stay out of this." Ashton sighs. Luke frowns and makes his way upstairs.
"Now, what made you think it'd be okay to kiss my sister?"
"A-Ashton I'm sorry, okay."
"Sorry, doesn't cut it, Calum. She loves Michael. That's her kid. It's Michael's kid. There's nothing you can do about it, Cal. I'm sorry." I look to the ground and sigh. "I know you guys are close. Maybe you should go talk to her."
I nod my head and make my way up the stairs. The floorboards creaked beneath my weight, making it far from possible to be discrete about this. Not that there was a reason to be discrete about it. I just, didn't want to make it obvious.
I find her room and gently knock at her door. After a few minutes, I don't get an answer so, I knock on the door again. This time, I knocked a little harder. In response, I hear her grunt a little. "Come in." I hear her mumble.
I open the door and walk in. Her room was dark, the only source of light being her laptop. "Ashton, get me a slice of pi-" She stops mid-sentence and turns around in her chair. "Oh." She sighs, "It's you."
I roll my eyes, "Don't say that."
"Calum, I'm fine. You don't have to keep checking up on more or sending Ash up here."
"Yeah but, everyone since what happened, you've been so, distant."
"Calum, you kissed me."
"Liliana, I-"
Her bedroom door swings open, "Lil, do you want pizza?" Our attention is directed to Ashton who's standing in the door. "Sorry for interrupting." He chuckles.
"I'd like pizza."
"What about you, Calum?" Ashton asks.
"Sure. "
"Alright. I'll call you down when it gets here." He smiles.
"Okay." Liliana and I reply.
Ashton exits the room, leaving Lili and I by ourselves. "What were you going to tell me before my brother interrupted us?"
I like you.
I think to myself.
C'mon Cal, you can say it's just three little words.
"It's nothing, nevermind." I smile at her and leave the room. I make my way downstairs and take a seat on the couch. "Ash, when's that pizza gonna be here?"
"About 20 minutes, why?" He asks.
I get up from the couch and grab my car keys, "I'll be back in fifteen."
Liliana's POV
Laying down on my back, I stare up at my white ceiling fan. Thinking about stuff. Everything. What's happened the past few months. What's going to happen within the next few months. It's crazy how fast time has gone and how much has changed in that time frame. Just a few months ago, 6 months to be exact, Michael was my best friend. Yeah, maybe I had a bit of a crush on him but, I never wanted it any other way. Now, I'm living with my brother along with his thre-two friends and pregnant at 18. And the probability that my daughter has a father is slim to none at this point.
Anyway, I knew what he was going to tell me. Calum, that is. I just didn't want to believe it. I consider him one of my best friends. I would never want to ruin our friendship because we start dating. Don't get me wrong, Calum is a good looking guy it's just, I consider him more of a brother than a boyfriend. Besides, Calum is what I like to call too perfect for me. And to be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure Calum would want to be a dad at 18. I can't imagine Michael wants to be a dad at 19 but, it's his daughter. Therefore, she's partly his responsibility.
"Liliana!" I hear Ashton yell, tearing me from my thoughts. I figured the pizza was here so, by myself, I stand up and make my way downstairs. As I reach the bottom of the staircase, I find Ashton and Calum whispering to each other.
"Hey, sharing is caring." I chuckle.
They turn to me with a look of confusion on their faces. Or, is that panic? Maybe nervousness. I'm not sure. "Lili," Calum starts, "there's someone waiting for you in the kitchen."
"Is it pizza?"
"No, Lil. Just," Ashton sighs, "-just go find out for yourself."
Brushing past the two of them, I walk into the kitchen, the cold tile sending a chill up my spine. The mystery person turns around and in that moment, I wasn't sure if I should cry, scream or punch someone.
