We Are Grateful

Krissy's POV

*[I rolled over in bed and grabbed my pillow pressing it to my ears. I finally sat up with a growl to see Alyx sitting beside me. We both looked at each other, no doubt thinking the same thing. "What is that continuous knocking?!". We both got up and ran downstairs to see what was going on...]*

As we reached the bottom of the stairs, we heared multiple knocks at the door. We both looked at each other with smiles before I unlocked and opened it to find CC, Jinxx, and Jake standing there with their hands in fists as they were about to knock again. "Heeeeeeeey!" the all exclaimed before coming in and giving us hugs. I laughed and peered outside to see Andy and Ashley sitting in the car poking eachother. I shook my head and closed the door. I knew they'd eventually make they're way inside. Alyx was sitting on the bottom step, looking like she was still half asleep. I chuckled and headed into the kitchen with Jake, Jinxx and CC following me. As we passed Alyx, CC scooped her up and spinned her around. "Wakey wakey!" he sing songed before dissolving into laughter and putting her down. She playfully slapped his arm before they both came into the kitchen. "Does anyone want anything?" I asked looking at them all gathered around the table. "Coffee!" they all exclaimed. I smiled and put the water on. "Do you think Ash and Andy will want anything?" I asked the guy's. CC got up and looked out the window. "Coffee." he replied with a smile before sitting back down.

I turned around and grabbed seven coffee mugs from the cupboard and heard the door open.We all got quiet and heard Andy's voice loud and clear... "I'm gonna tell my mommy on you!". We all looked at each other before bursting into laughter as Andy and Ashley sauntered in. Ashley kept messing up Andy's hair. They took a seat at the table with everyone else and kept picking at each other. The water finished boiling and I waved everyone over to make their coffees. Once everyone had their coffee in had, they headed out to the living room. I quickly made mine, put the milk and coffee grounds away. I grabbed my mug and joined everyone else.

"So, are you excited about learning to drive?" Andy asked looking over to Alyx with a smile on his face as she choked on her coffee. She looked over at me quickly and then back to Andy. "Yes, but I'm a little nervous..." She replied while taking another sip of her coffee. I chuckled. "Al, you'll do perfectly fine. I know you will." She looked at me with a smile. "Thanks Kris." Andy finished his coffee and went to return his mug to the kitchen. CC, Jake, and Jinxx followed doing the same thing. Ashley sat on the floor gazing off into space. Andy, Jinxx, CC, and Jake came back out and stood staring at Alyx. "You ready?" Andy said as he turned to the door. "Yeah, just let me get changed real quick." Alyx replied as she ran upstairs. I ran up after her to get changed as well. I walked into the bedroom to find Alyx standing in front of the mirror with a worried look on her face. I went straight to my wardrobe and began digging through it. "Al? You okay?" I asked as I pulled out a pink tank top and a paid of black shorts. She looked at me from the mirror. "Yeah, I'm just a little nervous. What if I fuck up?". As I was pulling my shorts on I turned around to look at her. "We all have. It's all part of the learning process.". She shook her head and gave me a hopeful yet nervous smile. I grabbed a pair of black flip flops and slipped them on and went to stand beside Alyx in the mirror. I ran my fingers through my hair and pinched my cheeks adding a little colour to them. I turned to Alyx and took her hands. "Al, just breath. Your going to be just fine.". She nodded her head and hugged me. We joined hands and headed back downstairs.

Alyx' POV

*[The guys look so hopeful... But what if I let them down? What if I let myself down...? I really hope I can do this right the first time...]*

"Okay, now I'm ready." I said as I opened the door and headed outside. The guys followed behind me and we piled into the car. I waved to Krissy and Ashley and off we went. Andy drove us out to an old dirt road that didn't get much daily traffic. He pulled over and we sat in silence for a few minutes. Finally, Andy broke the silence. "Alright. Just breath, your going to do fine. Get out, and we'll switch seats.". I nodded taking a deep breath. I got out and walked around to the drivers side. Andy grabbed me and hugged me tightly. "You got this." He said with an encouraging smile. I smiled back and got into the drivers seat as he got into the passengers seat. First thing I did before he even had a chance to say anything was buckle up. "Okay, now the first thing you need to do is to check your mirrors, and adjust them accordingly." I nodded and did as he said. I looked over to him. "Now what?". "Start the car." He instructed. I nodded, and started the car. Before further instruction, I checked my mirrors, put the car in drive, and slowly edged into my lane on the road. "See, you did that easily." remarked Jake from the backseat. "Just breath, your doing perfectly fine." Exclaimed Jinxx. "Just remember, always keep your eyes on where it is you want to go." Said CC. "Okay. Thanks guys." I replied adding a little speed and keeping my focus straight ahead but checking my mirrors periodically. "Okay, now hit the gas gently and slow down a little bit so you can ease around this curve." instructed Andy. I did exactly as he said, and made my way around the curve easier than I myself thought I would. I smiled proudly and kept my focus on the road regaining my speed. "Now, give it some more gas. I gave it some more gas and was rather proud of how well I was doing. "I'm doing it... I'm really doing it!" I exclaimed with a chuckle. The guys all gave a small laugh before sitting in silence again. After about 10 minutes, I was doing 80km/h, and I was feeling great... I felt successful.
