Pluto City, 2026

It was 13:05. One minute after Chronos began sleeping. Head spinning in circles, Chronos rolled off his luxorious bed, slamming into the floorboards. Like a worm, he wriggled over to his desk since he had no energy after the interdimensional travelling. He snatched a photo of him and Hemera when he was 6 and she was 10 from the top of the table. His heart sank as he saw that she was no longer there, replaced by a wild peacock.

Sadly, he trudged down the spiralling staircase to find his mother in the kitchen. The tantalising scent of freshly baked pastries glided along the room. However, Chronos ignored this as he had no time for food.
"Mother! Where's Hemera?" he questioned.
"Who?" his mother replied.
" Hemera, my sister. " Chronos was testing his theory. If Hemera no longer existed, it would make sense that no one would remember her. He assumed that because he was in another dimension when she was erased, his memories were intact.
"I think all of your experiments have left you quite ill Chronos. You don't have a sister. Go upstairs and lie down for a bit. I will bring your lunch up too!" She said all of this kindly and without much worry because his mother didn't know that she had a daughter .

Gradually, Chronos made his way back up the spiralling staircase. He didn't know what to do or think. Why was his sister the target of these beasts? Once he was back in his room, he plopped himself on his bed, thinking. Thinking about what Ledrin had said. His sister was taken out of the timestream. It sounded awfully familiar.

Then it clicked. He raced to his mini library and brought out a fragile, mouldy book made 6000 years ago. He turned to page 34 and found what he was looking for. He translated it to: I discovered a new species today. I found them in uncharted territory. They looked a bit like demons. One had a squirrel in it's hands but it suddenly disappeared. I think that they might be intelligent life.

That explained a lot though of course, it proved nothing. Chronos felt a piece of paper in his pocket. He drew it out and looked at it. It said:
Meet me on the 3rd of May 2026 at the Pluto Observatory. We shall find my friends.
-Ledrin

Chronos felt a new resolve build up inside his body. They would save Hemera and nothing would stop them. He tucked the paper back in his pocket and decided that he should start packing now. He got a rucksack and put some clothes, a torch, food and water and books in it.

Out of the blue, his mother entered his room with a tray laden with mouthwatering food. She left it on the desk as she noticed that Chronos was reading. In his head, he prepared for his trip as today was the 1st of May.

2 days to go.
