"Oh, so you're a faunuce. Don't be ashamed, we have plenty of those here."

"No Ruby. I'm much older than any faunuce. I'm not a human or a faunuce."

"Then what are you?" she asked.

"A gem." I say.

Ruby went wide eyed and started to back away from me. "You're a gem?"

"Yes Ruby." I said tearing up and some tears fall down my blue face.

She saw my tears and her face immediately softened up. "Mari, I didn't mean to make you sad. I-I just know of some gems that were bad, and tried to harm the human race."

"When did you hear of that?"

"I read somewhere that the gems are a really powerful race, and once tried to take the planet for their own. I thought it was just a fairytale at first, but maybe not."

I sigh.

"It's true. Some gems did try to take our planet. I say 'our' because I was one of the few gems that rebelled our homeworld to keep this planet safe from their plans." I said wiping some of the tears off.

"You fought a war just to protect us?" Ruby asked.

"Yes."

"Would you do it again?" she said, and I had a puzzled look.

"I don't understand."

"Would you relive the war, to protect us?" Ruby said.

"Then yes. I would risk my life to protect Remnant and it's inhabitants. I swore an oath to protect it, and it is my duty to uphold it."

"Then you really do belong at this school. Here, we learn to protect others besides ourselves. You aren't so different here, because we all have the same goal. To fight monsters and protect others."

I sniff. "You're right. I may be of a different species, but we have the same goals. Thank you for listening. But please, I'd like to keep it a secret, even if the blue skin doesn't give it away."

"I won't." We hugged and went back to our dorm rooms.

I opened the door to find the entire team on their beds, waiting for me. Darn it! I was supposed to go see Steven and the gems after this. I drop my bag on my bed and I bid a quick farewell to my teammates and ran out of the building. When I was out of the building, I ran as fast as I could to the nearest warpad. When I run fast, I run really fast. I made it to the abandoned city in minutes time, where a aircraft would've taken about thirty minutes. I go up to the creaky building and step inside the framing of the once standing building. I head over to the trap door that I built containing the room with the warp pad. I built it especially for Crystal gems, only we can get in, and get out. I put my hand on the door and it started to glow a bright blue and dematerialized. I smirked and jumped into the room, the door materializing behind me. I walk over to the warp pad and smile.

"Haven't seen you in a while." I say to the warp pad. I step on and activated. I warped back to the temple.

"Mari!" I hear Steven say, and then fall over by a huge force tipping me over. Steven.

"Hey bud! How are you doing? Miss me?" I say, giving the big guy a hug. What can I say, two thousand years and he grew a lot. He is almost as tall as Garnet. Wait. Where is Garnet?

I swing my head around to find a gauntlet coming towards my face. I put out my hand to stop the gauntlet in it's path, stopping inches from my face.
